Are you tired of receiving unwanted calls on your iPhone? Whether it’s persistent telemarketers or annoying exes, sometimes you just want to block a number and be done with it.

Thankfully, blocking a number on your iPhone is a quick and easy process. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to block a number on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Phone App

To begin, locate and tap on the Phone app on your iPhone’s home screen. The Phone app icon looks like a green phone receiver against a white background.

Step 2: Access Recent Call List

After opening the Phone app, navigate to the Recents tab at the bottom of the screen. This will display a list of all recent calls made and received on your iPhone.

Step 3: Find the Number to Block

Scroll through the list of recent calls and find the number you wish to block. You can also use the search bar at the top of the screen to quickly locate a specific number.

Step 4: Block the Number

Tap on the “i” icon, located next to the number you want to block. This will take you to the details page for that specific call.

Note:

If you have already deleted this call from your recent call list, don’t worry! You can still block a number by accessing it from other areas such as voicemail or text message threads.

Step 5: Scroll Down and Tap “Block this Caller”

Scroll down on the details page until you see the option that says “Block this Caller.” Tap on this option to proceed.

Step 6: Confirm Blocking

A pop-up window will appear, asking you to confirm your decision to block the selected number. To proceed with blocking, tap on “Block Contact.”

Step 7: Successfully Blocked!

Congratulations! You have successfully blocked the unwanted number on your iPhone. You will no longer receive calls, messages, or FaceTime requests from this blocked contact.

Note:

If you ever change your mind and want to unblock a number, follow the same steps outlined above and tap on “Unblock this Caller” instead of “Block this Caller.”

Please keep in mind that blocking a number does not prevent it from leaving voicemails. However, these voicemails will be stored in a separate section and won’t appear in your regular voicemail list.

Additional Tips:

  • If you want to block a number that isn’t in your recent call list, you can add it manually to your contacts and then block it using the steps mentioned above.
  • To manage all blocked contacts and make any necessary changes, go to Settings, then navigate to Phone, and finally tap on Blocked Contacts.

Now you know how to block a number on your iPhone! Say goodbye to unwanted calls and enjoy a more peaceful smartphone experience. Remember, blocking a number is an effective way to take control of who can contact you on your iPhone.
