How to Update Microsoft Office on Mac

Step 1: Check for Updates

To begin, open any Microsoft Office application such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. Then, click on the Help tab in the top menu bar.

In the Help dropdown menu, select Check for Updates. This will launch the Microsoft AutoUpdate application.

Step 2: Check for Available Updates

The Microsoft AutoUpdate application will now open and check for available updates for your installed Microsoft Office applications.

If any updates are found, they will be displayed in a list format with checkboxes next to each update. You can review the updates and select which ones you want to install.

Note:

We recommend selecting all available updates to ensure that you have the latest features and security patches.

Step 3: Install Updates

Step 4: Update Progress

A progress bar will be displayed indicating the status of each update being installed. You can also track the overall progress at the bottom of the window.

Note:

Make sure not to close the Microsoft AutoUpdate application or any Microsoft Office applications during the installation process. Doing so may interrupt the update and could cause issues with your installation.

Step 5: Restart Microsoft Office Applications

After the updates have been successfully installed, you will be prompted to restart any open Microsoft Office applications.

Close all the open Microsoft Office applications and then relaunch them to ensure that the updates take effect.
