Have you ever forgotten the passcode to your iPhone? It can be a frustrating experience, especially if you rely on your device for daily tasks.

However, there’s no need to panic. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of unlocking your iPhone when you forgot the passcode. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to a computer

The first thing you need to do is connect your iPhone to a computer using a USB cable. Make sure the computer has iTunes installed.

Step 2: Put your iPhone in Recovery Mode

To put your iPhone in Recovery Mode, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off your iPhone by pressing and holding the power button.
  2. Press and hold the power button and volume down button simultaneously.
  3. Keep holding both buttons until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
  4. Release the buttons when you see the “Connect to iTunes” message on the screen.

Your iPhone is now in Recovery Mode and ready for restoration.

Step 3: Restore your iPhone using iTunes

To restore your iPhone using iTunes, follow these steps:

  1. Open iTunes on your computer if it doesn’t open automatically when you connect your iPhone.
  2. Select your device icon from the top-left corner of the iTunes window.
  3. Navigate to the “Summary” tab in the left sidebar.
  4. Select the “Restore iPhone” button.
  5. Confirm your action by clicking “Restore” again when prompted.

Wait for the restoration process to complete. This may take some time depending on your internet connection and the size of your device backup.

Step 4: Set up your iPhone

Once the restoration process is finished, you can set up your iPhone as a new device or restore it from a previous backup. Choose the appropriate option based on your preferences and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note:

If you choose to restore from a backup, make sure to select a backup that doesn’t include the forgotten passcode. Otherwise, you will end up with the same issue again.

Congratulations! You have successfully unlocked your iPhone when you forgot the passcode. Remember to keep your passcode in a safe place or consider using biometric authentication methods like Touch ID or Face ID for added convenience and security.
