Have you recently performed a factory reset on your Android phone and now find yourself locked out of your Google account? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to unlock your Google account on an Android phone after a factory reset.

Step 1: Start the Setup Process

After performing a factory reset, your Android phone will prompt you to begin the setup process. Follow the on-screen instructions until you reach the “Set up email” screen.

Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi

In order to proceed, you’ll need to connect your Android phone to a Wi-Fi network. Tap on the “Wi-Fi” option and select your network from the list. Enter the password if required and tap “Connect”.

Step 3: Skip Email Setup

On the “Set up email” screen, you’ll be asked to enter your Google account credentials. Since you’re locked out of your account, tap on “Skip” or “Not now” to bypass this step.

Step 4: Access Settings

Once you’ve skipped the email setup, you’ll be taken to the home screen of your Android phone. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the notification panel and tap on the gear icon to access Settings.

Step 5: Navigate to Accounts

In Settings, scroll down and tap on “Accounts” or “Users & accounts” depending on your device. This will take you to a list of all accounts associated with your Android phone.

Step 6: Remove Google Account

In the Accounts menu, locate and tap on “Google”. On the next screen, you’ll see a list of Google accounts linked to your device.

Tap on the account that is locked and then tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner. From the dropdown menu, select “Remove account”. Confirm your choice when prompted.

Step 7: Add Google Account

After removing the locked Google account, go back to the Accounts menu and tap on “Add account” or “Add an account”. From the list of available options, select “Google”.

Step 8: Sign In to Your Google Account

On the next screen, enter your Google email address and tap “Next”. Then enter your password and tap “Next” again. Follow any additional prompts to complete signing in to your Google account.

Step 9: Set Up Your Device

Once you’ve successfully signed in to your Google account, your Android phone will start syncing data and settings from your account. Follow any remaining setup prompts to complete the process.

Note:

  • If you have two-factor authentication enabled for your Google account, you may be asked to verify your identity during the sign-in process. Make sure you have access to a trusted device or backup codes before proceeding.
  • If you don’t remember your Google account credentials, you can try recovering them by visiting the Google Account Recovery page on a computer or another device with internet access.
  • If none of these steps work for you, it’s recommended to contact Google support for further assistance with unlocking your account.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully unlocked your Google account on an Android phone after a factory reset. Now you can enjoy all the features and services associated with your Google account on your device.
