Have you ever accidentally reported a legitimate email as junk on your iPhone? Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to undo such a report and ensure that future emails from the same sender are not mistakenly flagged as junk. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of undoing a report junk action on your iPhone.

Step 1: Access the Junk Email Folder

To begin, open the Mail app on your iPhone and navigate to the “Mailboxes” view. Scroll down until you see the “Junk” folder and tap on it to access your junk email folder.

Step 2: Locate the Reported Email

Once you’re in the junk email folder, locate the email that you want to unmark as junk. You can either scroll through your emails or use the search bar at the top of the screen to find it quickly.

If you remember specific details about the email, such as the sender’s name or subject line, entering those into the search bar can help you locate it faster.

Step 3: Open Email Options

When you’ve found the reported email, swipe left on its entry in the list to reveal a set of options. Tap on “More” to access additional actions for that specific email.

Step 4: Mark as Not Junk

In this next menu, tap on “Mark” and then select “Not Junk” from the available options. This action will remove any previous reports of this email being junk and will prevent future emails from this sender from being flagged as junk automatically.

If you don’t see a “Mark” option, it’s possible that the email is no longer in the junk folder or has already been moved to another folder. In this case, you can skip to the next step.

Step 5: Move Email to Inbox

If you couldn’t find the “Mark” option or if you want to move the email directly back to your inbox, you can do so by tapping on “Move Message” instead of “Mark” in the previous step. From there, select the inbox folder or any other desired folder to move the email.

Moving the email back to your inbox is useful if you want to ensure that it’s visible and easily accessible among your other non-junk emails.

Step 6: Verify Changes

Once you’ve performed either of the previous steps, go back to your main mailbox view by tapping on “Mailboxes” at the top-left corner of the screen. Now, check your inbox for any future emails from this sender. They should no longer be marked as junk automatically.

If you still receive emails from this sender in your junk folder after following these steps, make sure to check if there are any specific rules or filters set up that may be causing them to be flagged as junk. Adjusting those settings can help prevent future misclassifications.

  • Summary:

Undoing a report junk action on your iPhone is a straightforward process that ensures legitimate emails are not mistakenly labeled as spam. By accessing the junk email folder, locating and marking an email as not junk, or moving it back to your inbox, you can prevent future emails from being flagged incorrectly. Remember to regularly review and adjust any filtering settings to ensure important emails are always delivered to the right place.
