However, there may come a time when you want to reconnect with that person and unblock them. Fortunately, unblocking contacts on an iPhone is a straightforward process.

Step 1: Open the Settings App

To begin unblocking a contact on your iPhone, first, open the Settings app. This app has a gear icon and can be found on your home screen.

Step 2: Scroll Down and Tap “Phone” or “Messages”

Scroll down the settings menu until you find either the “Phone” or “Messages” option (depending on whether you blocked the contact from making phone calls or sending messages). Tap on the respective option.

For Unblocking Phone Contacts:

If you blocked a contact from making phone calls, tap on “Phone”.

For Unblocking Message Contacts:

If you blocked a contact from sending messages, tap on “Messages”.

Step 3: Tap “Blocked Contacts”

Within the Phone or Messages settings section, locate and tap on “Blocked Contacts”. This will open a list of all the contacts that you have currently blocked.

Step 4: Find the Contact You Want to Unblock

In this list of blocked contacts, scroll through until you find the specific contact that you want to unblock.

Step 5: Tap “Edit” and then Tap “-” Next to the Contact

To unblock a specific contact, tap on “Edit” in the top-right corner of the screen. Then, tap the “-” symbol next to the contact’s name or number.

Step 6: Tap “Unblock”

After tapping the “-” symbol, a red “Unblock” button will appear. Tap on it to unblock the contact.

Step 7: Confirm Unblock

A confirmation prompt will appear asking if you want to unblock the contact. Tap “Unblock Contact” to confirm and remove the block.
