Are you an Android user who recently got a pair of AirPods? If so, you may have noticed that adjusting the volume on AirPods is not as straightforward on Android devices as it is on iPhones. But don’t worry, in this article, we will guide you through the process of turning up the volume on your AirPods when using them with an Android device.

Step 1: Connect your AirPods to your Android device

The first step is to make sure your AirPods are properly connected to your Android device. To do this, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the Bluetooth settings on your Android device by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping on the Bluetooth icon.
  2. Put your AirPods in pairing mode by opening the lid of the charging case and pressing and holding the button on the back of the case until the LED light starts blinking white.
  3. Select your AirPods from the list of available devices in the Bluetooth settings on your Android device.
  4. Wait for your AirPods to connect. Once connected, you should see a notification confirming that your AirPods are paired and connected to your Android device.

Step 2: Adjusting volume with physical buttons

If you have AirPods Pro or second-generation AirPods (with wireless charging case) that support touch controls, adjusting volume using physical buttons is possible. Here’s how:

  1. Play some audio or video content on your Android device using any app or media player.
  2. Locate the physical buttons on your AirPods. The volume up button is marked with a “+” sign, while the volume down button is marked with a “-” sign.
  3. To increase the volume, press the volume up button on either AirPod until you reach your desired volume level.
  4. To decrease the volume, press the volume down button on either AirPod until you reach your desired volume level.

Step 3: Adjusting volume using your Android device

If your AirPods do not have physical buttons or you prefer to adjust the volume directly from your Android device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the settings menu on your Android device by tapping on the gear-shaped icon in the app drawer or by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping on the settings icon.
  2. Scroll down and tap on “Sounds & vibration”, or a similar option depending on your Android device’s manufacturer.
  3. In the sound settings menu, tap “Media” or a similar option that controls media playback.
  4. Adjust the media volume slider to increase or decrease the volume of audio played through your AirPods. You can also use the physical volume buttons on your Android device to control this slider.

Note:

If you are unable to adjust the volume using these steps, make sure that you have properly connected and paired your AirPods with your Android device. It’s also worth checking if there are any software updates available for both your AirPods and Android device, as these updates often include bug fixes and improvements.

Now that you know how to turn up the volume on your AirPods while using them with an Android device, you can enjoy your favorite music, podcasts, and videos at your preferred volume level. Remember to always be mindful of your hearing health and avoid listening at excessively high volumes for extended periods.
