Are you looking for a way to capture your iPhone screen in action? Whether you want to create a tutorial, share a gameplay video, or simply record something interesting on your device, screen recording can be a powerful tool.

In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to turn on screen recording on your iPhone. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Access the Control Center

To begin, open the Control Center on your iPhone. If you have an iPhone X or newer model, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen. For older models, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Add the Screen Recording Button

Next, you need to make sure that the screen recording button is available in your Control Center. Follow these simple instructions:

  • For iOS 12 and earlier versions:

    • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

    • Select “Control Center”.

    • Tap “Customize Controls”.

    • Scroll down and find “Screen Recording” in the “More Controls” section.

    • Tap the green plus icon next to it to add it to your Control Center.

  • For iOS 13 and later versions:

    • Follow steps one and two from above.

    • In the “Include” section, you should see “Screen Recording”. If it’s not there, skip to the next step.

    • Tap the green plus icon next to “Screen Recording” to add it to your Control Center.

Step 3: Start Screen Recording

Now that you have added the screen recording button to your Control Center, it’s time to start recording:

  • For iOS 12 and earlier versions:

    • Open the Control Center by swiping down (or up) depending on your iPhone model.

    • Tap the circular button with a solid white dot inside (it may also have a concentric circle around it).

    • A three-second countdown will appear, giving you some time to prepare your screen.

    • During the recording, a red bar will be displayed at the top of your screen.

    • To stop recording, tap on the red bar or open the Control Center and tap on the screen recording button again. You can also end it by tapping on the blue “Stop” button in the notification that appears when you swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen.

  • For iOS 13 and later versions:

    • Access the Control Center as mentioned in step three above.

    • Long-press (or force touch) on the screen recording button (it looks like a circle inside a circle).

    • A menu will pop up with options to start recording, enable microphone audio, or both.

    • Tap on the desired options and then tap “Start Recording”.

    • Just like in the previous version, a red bar will appear indicating that the screen is being recorded.

    • To stop recording, follow the same steps as mentioned in step five above.

Congratulations! You have successfully turned on screen recording on your iPhone.

Now you can capture and share any moment or activity happening on your device with ease. Remember to be mindful of privacy and only record content that you have permission to capture. Enjoy creating amazing videos!

Troubleshooting Tips:

If you encounter any issues with screen recording, try the following:

  • Check for iOS updates: Make sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Sometimes, updating your software can resolve compatibility problems.

  • Restart your iPhone: A simple restart can fix temporary glitches that may be affecting screen recording functionality.

  • Reset settings: If all else fails, you can try resetting your iPhone’s settings. Note that this will not delete any data but will revert your device’s settings to default.

We hope this guide has been helpful in enabling screen recording on your iPhone. Now go ahead and let your creativity flow!
