iPhone, Tutorials

Screen mirroring is a handy feature that allows you to display your iPhone’s screen on a larger external display, such as a TV or a computer monitor. This can be useful for various purposes, like giving presentations or sharing media with friends and family. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to turn on screen mirroring on your iPhone.

Step 1: Make sure that your iPhone and the device you want to mirror to are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Screen mirroring requires both devices to be on the same network.

Step 2: On your iPhone, swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or swipe down from the top-right corner on iPhone X or newer models) to open the Control Center.

Step 3: In the Control Center, look for an icon that looks like a rectangle with an arrow pointing upwards from its bottom edge. This is the AirPlay icon.

Step 4: Tap on the AirPlay icon to open the AirPlay menu.

AirPlay menu options

In the AirPlay menu, you will see a list of available devices that support screen mirroring. These could include Apple TVs, smart TVs, and other compatible devices connected to your Wi-Fi network. Here are some options you may encounter:

  • iPhone: If you have multiple iOS devices connected to the same network, they may appear in this list. Selecting “iPhone” will mirror your iPhone’s screen onto itself.
  • Apple TV: If you have an Apple TV connected to your TV or monitor, it should appear in this list.

Selecting it will mirror your iPhone’s screen onto your TV.

  • Other devices: You may see other devices listed here, depending on what is connected to your Wi-Fi network. These could include smart TVs or other devices that support screen mirroring.

Step 5: To turn on screen mirroring, simply tap on the device you want to mirror to. You may be prompted to enter a code or verify the connection on the device you are connecting to.

Once the connection is established, your iPhone’s screen will be mirrored onto the external display. You can now navigate through your iPhone’s apps and features, and everything will be visible on the larger screen.

Ending screen mirroring

To stop screen mirroring, open the Control Center again and tap on the AirPlay icon. In the AirPlay menu, select “Stop Mirroring” or choose “iPhone” (or any other device) to stop mirroring specifically for that device.

Screen mirroring is a convenient feature that allows you to share your iPhone’s screen with others or enjoy content on a larger display. With just a few taps, you can easily turn on and off screen mirroring on your iPhone.
