Android, Tutorials

Are you tired of your Android phone vibrating every time you type? Whether it’s a text message, an email, or even just updating your social media status, the constant buzzing can be annoying.

But fear not! In this tutorial, we will show you how to turn off the vibration when typing on Android.

Step 1: Open the Settings Menu

To begin, go to your Android device’s home screen and locate the Settings app. It is usually represented by a gear icon. Tap on it to open the Settings menu.

Step 2: Find and Select ‘Sounds’

In the Settings menu, scroll down until you find the option called Sounds. It is typically located under the Personalization or Sound & Vibration section. Once you locate it, tap on it to proceed.

Note:

If your Android device has a different version or custom user interface (UI), the location of the Sounds option may vary slightly. However, it is usually found within the Settings menu under a similar section.

Step 3: Access ‘Sound & Vibration’ Settings

In this step, we need to access the specific settings for sound and vibration on your Android device. Look for an option labeled ‘Sound & Vibration’, ‘Sound’, or something similar. Tap on it to proceed further.

Note:

The naming of this option might differ depending on your device’s manufacturer and software version. You may need to explore submenus or categories related to sound settings if you cannot find an exact match.

Step 4: Customize the Keyboard Vibration

Now, you have reached the screen where you can customize various sound and vibration settings. Look for an option related to ‘Keyboard Vibration’ or ‘Vibrate on Keypress’. This option might be present within the Keyboard & Input Methods section or under a similar category.

Note:

If you are using a third-party keyboard app, the option to disable keyboard vibration might be available within the app’s settings rather than in the Android system settings. In such cases, you need to open the keyboard app and explore its settings to find the relevant option.

Step 5: Turn Off Keyboard Vibration

Finally, on the screen related to keyboard vibration settings, locate the switch or checkbox that controls this feature. It is usually positioned next to the option label. Tap on it to turn off the keyboard vibration.

  • If it is a switch, it will typically change its position from ‘On’ or ‘Enabled’ to ‘Off’ or ‘Disabled’ when tapped.
  • If it is a checkbox, tapping on it should remove the checkmark symbolizing that the feature is disabled.

Step 6: Verify and Enjoy

Once you have disabled keyboard vibration, exit out of the Settings menu by pressing either your device’s back button or using a gesture-based navigation system if applicable. Open any app where you can type, such as your messaging app or a note-taking application, and start typing away!

You should notice that your Android device no longer vibrates when you press keys on your keyboard. Enjoy a quieter typing experience without any unnecessary buzzing!

Note:

If you decide to enable keyboard vibration again in the future, you can follow the same steps outlined above and toggle the switch or checkbox back to its original position.

That’s it! You have successfully turned off the vibration when typing on your Android device.

Now you can type in peace without any distractions. Happy typing!
