Split screen is a useful feature on Android devices that allows you to run two apps simultaneously, side by side. It can be great for multitasking and increasing productivity.

However, there may be times when you want to turn off split screen mode. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of disabling split screen on your Android device.

Step 1: Access the Recent Apps Menu

To begin, you need to access the recent apps menu on your Android device. To do this, tap the square navigation button at the bottom of your screen or swipe up from the bottom.

Step 2: Enter Split Screen Mode

In the recent apps menu, you will see a list of all the apps that are currently running on your device. Find the app that you want to exit from split screen mode and swipe up on its preview card.

Note: If you don’t see the app in the recent apps menu, it means that it is not currently open or running in the background.

Step 3: Disable Split Screen

After swiping up on the app’s preview card, you will notice that it expands to fill the entire screen. This indicates that split screen mode has been disabled for this particular app.

Step 4: Exit Split Screen Mode Completely

If you want to exit split screen mode completely and return to using just one app at a time, follow these additional steps:

  • Option 1: Swipe down from the top of your device’s screen to reveal the notification shade. Then, tap on “Exit” or “Close” next to the split screen icon.
  • Option 2: Tap and hold the square navigation button at the bottom of your screen. This will immediately exit split screen mode and return you to the app you were using previously.

And that’s it! You have successfully turned off split screen on your Android device.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you are having trouble disabling split screen mode or if you are unable to find the options mentioned above, try the following:

  • Restart your device: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve any software glitches that may be causing issues with split screen mode.
  • Check your device’s settings: The process of disabling split screen mode may vary slightly depending on your device’s make and model. Refer to your device’s user manual or visit the manufacturer’s website for specific instructions.

We hope this tutorial has helped you in turning off split screen on your Android device. Now you can enjoy using apps in full-screen mode without any distractions!
