Are you experiencing issues with your iPhone’s 5G connection? Do you need to turn off the 5G feature for any reason?

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of disabling 5G on your iPhone. Whether you want to conserve battery life or troubleshoot connectivity problems, we’ve got you covered. Follow the steps below to turn off 5G on your iPhone.

Step 1: Accessing the Settings

To begin, unlock your iPhone and locate the “Settings” app on your home screen. It is represented by a gear icon and is usually found on the first page of your apps. Tap on the “Settings” app to open it.

Step 2: Navigating to Cellular Settings

Once you have accessed the “Settings” app, scroll down until you find the “Cellular” option. This option is typically located in the third section of settings, just below “Siri & Search.” Tap on “Cellular” to proceed.

Step 3: Modifying Cellular Data Options

Within the “Cellular” settings, scroll down until you see the “Cellular Data Options” menu. Tap on it to access further options.

Substep 3.1: Voice & Data

In this menu, you will find various options related to cellular data usage. Look for a setting called “Voice & Data.” This setting allows you to configure how your iPhone uses cellular data for voice calls and internet access.

Note:

If your device is currently connected to a Wi-Fi network, disabling 5G will only affect cellular data usage when Wi-Fi is unavailable.2: Choosing LTE

Within the “Voice & Data” menu, you will see several options. By default, the “5G On” option is selected. To turn off 5G, tap on the “5G On” option.

  • Option 1: Selecting “LTE” will force your iPhone to use only 4G LTE for cellular data and voice calls. This is recommended if you want to disable 5G temporarily.
  • Option 2: Alternatively, you can select “5G Auto” to allow your iPhone to automatically switch between 5G and LTE based on signal strength and availability. This is useful if you want to use 5G when it provides a better connection but fall back to LTE when necessary.

Step 4: Saving Your Changes

After selecting your desired option, exit the settings menu by pressing the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen until you return to the main settings page. Your changes will be saved automatically.

Step 5: Verifying Your Settings

To ensure that you have successfully turned off 5G on your iPhone, look for a small icon in the top right corner of your screen. If you see “LTE” or another indicator besides “5G,” it means that your iPhone is no longer using a 5G connection.

Congratulations! You have successfully disabled the 5G feature on your iPhone.

Whether it’s for conserving battery life or troubleshooting connectivity issues, this tutorial has provided an easy-to-follow guide for turning off 5G. Remember that you can always go back to these settings and enable 5G whenever needed.
