Transferring data from one iPhone to another can be a seamless process if you follow the right steps. Whether you’re upgrading to a new device or simply want to sync your data across multiple iPhones, this tutorial will guide you through the process.

Method 1: Using iCloud

Step 1: Ensure that both iPhones are connected to Wi-Fi and are signed in to the same iCloud account.

Step 2: On your old iPhone, go to Settings, tap on your name, and select iCloud. Make sure that all the desired data such as contacts, calendars, photos, and app data are enabled for syncing. If not, toggle them on.

Step 3: Now, on your new iPhone, go through the initial setup until you reach the Apps & Data screen. Choose Restore from iCloud Backup.

Step 4: Sign in with your iCloud credentials on the new iPhone and select the most recent backup from the list. This will initiate the transfer process.

Tips:

  • If you have a large amount of data or a slow internet connection, it may take some time for the transfer to complete. Make sure your devices are connected to power during this process.
  • If you don’t want to restore everything from your old iPhone, you can manually select which apps and data you want to transfer during Step 4.
  • To ensure a successful transfer, make sure both iPhones are running on the latest iOS version.

Method 2: Using Quick Start

Step 1: Place both iPhones close to each other and turn on your new iPhone. A Quick Start screen will appear.

Step 2: Use your current iPhone to scan the animation that appears on your new iPhone’s screen. Alternatively, you can manually enter the passcode displayed on your new iPhone into your current iPhone.

Step 3: Follow the instructions to set up Face ID or Touch ID on your new iPhone.

Step 4: Choose whether you want to transfer data from your current iPhone or restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup. Select the option for transferring data from your current device.

Tips:

  • This method requires iOS 11 or later on both iPhones.
  • If you’re unable to use Quick Start, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on both devices and that they are running on the latest iOS version.
  • If you have a lot of data, it may take some time for the transfer to complete. Ensure both devices are connected to power during this process.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully transferred data from one iPhone to another using either iCloud or Quick Start. Now you can enjoy all your apps, contacts, photos, and more seamlessly on your new device!
