iPhone, Tutorials

Are you wondering how to take a screenshot on your iPhone 8? Well, you’re in luck!

In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to capture your screen effortlessly. So, let’s dive right in!

Method 1: Using the Physical Buttons

If you prefer a hands-on approach, this method is perfect for you. Follow these steps:

  1. Locate the buttons: On your iPhone 8, find the power button (also known as the sleep/wake button) on the right side of your device, and the home button on the bottom center.
  2. Prepare your screen: Make sure that the content you want to capture is displayed on your iPhone’s screen.
  3. Press buttons simultaneously: Press and hold down both the power button and home button simultaneously.
  4. Capture the screenshot: After holding down the buttons for a brief moment, release them. You should see a flash of light and hear a camera shutter sound, indicating that the screenshot has been taken successfully.

Note: If you have an iPhone with Face ID capabilities (such as iPhone X or later), use the volume up button instead of the home button in step 3.

Method 2: Using AssistiveTouch

If using physical buttons isn’t your cup of tea, don’t worry! Apple has an alternative method called AssistiveTouch. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Enable AssistiveTouch: Go to “Settings” on your iPhone and navigate to “General” > “Accessibility” > “AssistiveTouch.” Toggle the switch to enable AssistiveTouch.
  2. Customize Top Level Menu: Once enabled, tap on “Customize Top Level Menu” within the AssistiveTouch settings and add “Screenshot” to your menu options.
  3. Take a screenshot: You should now see a semi-transparent button appear on your screen.

Tap on it, then select “Screenshot.” Your screen will flash, indicating that the screenshot has been captured.

Accessing Screenshots

Wondering where your screenshots go after you capture them? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

  1. Photos App: All screenshots taken on your iPhone 8 are automatically saved to the “Screenshots” album in the Photos app. Simply open the app and navigate to the “Albums” tab to find them.
  2. Notifications: After taking a screenshot, you’ll notice a small thumbnail of it appear in the bottom left corner of your screen. Tapping on this thumbnail will take you directly to the screenshot in the Photos app.

Congratulations! You’re now equipped with two methods for capturing screenshots on your iPhone 8.

Whether you choose to use physical buttons or prefer AssistiveTouch, taking screenshots has never been easier. Happy capturing!
