Are you tired of constantly switching between different keyboard languages on your Mac? Whether you need to type in multiple languages or want to learn a new language, Mac allows you to easily switch between keyboard languages. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of switching keyboard language on your Mac.

Step 1: Open System Preferences

To begin, click on the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen and select “System Preferences” from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can use the spotlight search (press Command + Space) and type “System Preferences” to open it.

Step 2: Select “Keyboard”

Once you are in the System Preferences window, locate and click on the “Keyboard” icon. It is usually represented by a keyboard icon or can be found under the “Hardware” section.

Step 3: Click on the “Input Sources” tab

After clicking on the “Keyboard” icon, a new window will open with several tabs. Look for and click on the “Input Sources” tab at the top of this window. This tab is where you can manage all your keyboard inputs.

Step 4: Add a New Keyboard Language

To add a new keyboard language, click on the “+” button located at the bottom left corner of the Input Sources window. A list of available languages will appear.

  • Bold Text: Select your desired language from the list by clicking on it.
  • Underlined Text: You can use this list to choose multiple languages if needed.

You can also use the search bar at the top right corner of this window to quickly find the language you are looking for. Once you have selected the language(s), click on the “Add” button to add them to your list of input sources.

Step 5: Organize Your Input Sources

By default, macOS will organize your input sources based on your preferred languages. However, you can rearrange them by clicking and dragging the languages up or down in the list. The order in which they appear will determine the keyboard language switching sequence.

Step 6: Enable Keyboard Language Switching

Make sure to check the box next to “Show Input menu in menu bar”. This will enable a small icon representing your keyboard language to appear in the top-right corner of your menu bar.

Step 7: Switch Keyboard Language

To switch between your enabled keyboard languages, simply click on the language icon in your menu bar. A drop-down menu will appear with a list of available languages that you added earlier. Click on the desired language, and it will instantly switch your keyboard input to that language.

Congratulations! You have successfully learned how to switch between different keyboard languages on your Mac. Now you can effortlessly type in multiple languages or learn new ones without any hassle.

Remember: Keyboard shortcuts can also be used to switch between different input sources quickly. To learn more about these shortcuts and customize them according to your preference, go back to “Input Sources” tab and click on the “Keyboard Shortcuts” button at the bottom right corner of this window.
