If you’ve ever wanted to slow down a video on your iPhone, whether it’s for analyzing a sports play, capturing a funny moment in slow motion, or simply to add a dramatic effect, you’re in luck. With the right tools and know-how, you can easily adjust the speed of any video directly from your iPhone. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to slow down a video on iPhone using the built-in iMovie app.

Step 1: Install iMovie

If you haven’t already done so, start by installing the iMovie app from the App Store. This powerful video editing tool comes pre-installed on most iPhones running iOS 13 or later. If you don’t have it installed, simply search for “iMovie” in the App Store and tap “Get” to install it.

Step 2: Open iMovie and Create a New Project

Once iMovie is installed on your iPhone, open the app and tap on “Create Project”. You’ll be presented with various project options – choose “Movie” to create a new project.

Step 3: Import Your Video

After creating a new project, tap on the “+” button at the bottom of the screen and select “Movie” to import your video into iMovie. You can choose videos from your camera roll or other locations such as iCloud Drive or Dropbox.

Step 4: Add Your Video to the Timeline

Once your video is imported into iMovie, it will appear in the media library at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on your video clip and then drag it up to the timeline at the bottom of the screen. The timeline is where you can make edits and apply effects to your video.

Step 5: Adjust the Speed of Your Video

With your video clip selected in the timeline, tap on the speedometer icon at the bottom left corner of the screen. A new panel will appear with various speed options.

To slow down your video, drag the speed slider to the left. You can adjust it to different speeds depending on your preference.

Step 6: Preview and Save Your Edited Video

Once you’ve adjusted the speed of your video, tap on the play button at the bottom of the screen to preview your edited video. If you’re satisfied with the result, tap on “Done” at the top left corner of the screen.

Next, tap on the share button at the bottom center of the screen to save and share your slowed-down video. You can choose to save it to your camera roll, send it via email or messages, or upload it directly to social media platforms such as Instagram or Facebook.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully slowed down a video on your iPhone using iMovie. Feel free to experiment with different speeds and effects to create stunning slow-motion videos that will impress your friends and followers.
