In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to sign out of Messenger on Android. Whether you’re switching devices or simply want to log out of your Messenger account, we’ve got you covered. Follow the steps below to sign out with ease.

Step 1: Open the Messenger App

First, locate the Messenger app icon on your Android device’s home screen or app drawer. It is represented by a white speech bubble with a blue lightning bolt inside.

Step 2: Access the Settings Menu

Once you have opened the Messenger app, tap on your profile picture located in the top left corner of the screen. This will open a drop-down menu.

Note: If you don’t see your profile picture, it may be because you are not logged in. In that case, skip to Step 3 to learn how to log in and then return to this step.

Step 3: Tap on “Switch Account”

In the drop-down menu, tap on the “Switch Account” option. This will take you to a screen where all accounts associated with Messenger on your device are listed.

Step 4: Select “Log Out”

On the “Switch Account” screen, find and tap on the “Log Out” option next to your account name. A confirmation prompt will appear asking if you want to log out of this account.

Note:

  • If there are multiple accounts listed, make sure you select the correct one before proceeding with logging out.
  • If you don’t see any accounts listed or want to sign out of all accounts at once, tap on “Not [Your Name]?” at the bottom and follow the instructions to log out.

Step 5: Confirm Log Out

After tapping on “Log Out”, a confirmation prompt will appear asking if you want to continue. Tap on “Log Out” again to finalize the process.

Step 6: Return to the Login Screen

Once you have successfully logged out, you will be redirected to the Messenger login screen. From here, you can either log in with a different account or close the app if you no longer wish to use Messenger at this time.

Congratulations! You have successfully signed out of Messenger on your Android device. Remember that signing out will remove your account from the device, so make sure to log back in if you want to continue using Messenger later.
