How to Share Screen on Zoom on Mac

Sharing your screen on Zoom is a great way to collaborate with others, whether it’s for a business meeting, a presentation, or even just to show someone how to do something on their computer. If you’re using a Mac, the process is simple and straightforward. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps of sharing your screen on Zoom on Mac.

Step 1: Launch Zoom

To get started, make sure you have the Zoom application installed on your Mac. If you haven’t already done so, you can download it from the official Zoom website. Once installed, open the application.

Step 2: Start or Join a Meeting

Before you can share your screen, you need to either start a new meeting or join an existing one. If you’re starting a new meeting, click on the “New Meeting” button on the main screen of the Zoom application.

If you’re joining an existing meeting, enter the meeting ID and click “Join. “

Step 3: Access Screen Sharing Options

Once you’re in a meeting, locate the toolbar at the bottom of the Zoom window. In this toolbar, find and click on the “Screen Share” button. It looks like a monitor icon with an arrow pointing upwards.

Note:

If this is your first time sharing your screen on Zoom, you may need to grant permission for Screen Recording in macOS. Follow any prompts that appear and grant permission as necessary.

Step 4: Choose What to Share

A pop-up window will appear with different options for sharing your screen. Here are the available options:

  • Your Entire Screen: Choose this option if you want to share everything on your screen, including all open applications and windows.
  • A Specific Application Window: Select this option if you only want to share a specific application or window. You can choose the application or window from the list that appears.
  • Whiteboard: This option allows you to use a blank whiteboard space as a virtual whiteboard and share it with others in the meeting.

Select the desired option by clicking on it, then click the “Share” button in the bottom right corner of the pop-up window.

Step 5: Start Screen Sharing

Once you’ve chosen what to share, Zoom will start sharing your screen with the meeting participants. You’ll see a green outline around the area of your screen that is being shared. At this point, you can navigate through different applications and windows on your Mac, and others in the meeting will be able to see what you’re doing.

Note:

If you want to stop sharing your screen at any time during the meeting, simply click on the “Stop Share” button located at the top of your screen or in the Zoom toolbar at the bottom of your screen.
