Have you ever wanted to share your screen during a FaceTime call on your Mac? Well, you’re in luck!

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to easily share your screen on Mac FaceTime. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Start a FaceTime Call

The first step is to initiate a FaceTime call with the person you want to share your screen with. Open the FaceTime app on your Mac and select the contact you wish to call. Wait for them to answer the call and once connected, you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Enable Screen Sharing

To enable screen sharing during your FaceTime call, hover your mouse over the FaceTime window and look for the toolbar that appears at the bottom of the screen. On this toolbar, locate and click on the “Screen Share” icon.

Note: If you don’t see the toolbar, move your mouse slightly to make it appear.

Step 3: Choose What to Share

Once you click on the “Screen Share” icon, a pop-up window will appear asking what you would like to share. You have two options:

  • Your Entire Screen: This option allows you to share everything displayed on your screen. It is useful when you want to show multiple applications or documents simultaneously.
  • A Specific Application Window: This option allows you to choose a specific application or window that you want to share. It is helpful when you only want to show one particular program or document.

To make your selection, click on either “Your Entire Screen” or “Application Window,” depending on your preference.

Step 4: Start Screen Sharing

After choosing what you want to share, click on the “Start Screen Sharing” button. A notification will appear on the recipient’s screen, asking for their permission to view your screen. They need to accept this request for screen sharing to begin.

Note: The recipient can choose to control your screen or simply view it, depending on their preference and the access you grant them.

Step 5: End Screen Sharing

To end the screen sharing session, either you or the recipient can click on the “Stop Screen Sharing” button located at the top of the FaceTime window. Once clicked, the screen sharing session will be terminated.

  • Optimize Performance: To ensure a smooth screen sharing experience, close any unnecessary applications or windows that may consume system resources.
  • Communicate Clearly: During a screen sharing session, it is helpful to communicate with the recipient through FaceTime’s audio or video call feature. This allows you to explain what you are presenting and answer any questions they may have.

Congratulations! You have successfully learned how to share your screen during a FaceTime call on your Mac.

Now you can easily collaborate with others or provide remote assistance by sharing your screen. Enjoy!
