Sharing a calendar on your iPhone can be a useful way to keep your friends, family, or colleagues in the loop about your schedule. Whether you’re planning a family vacation, coordinating a work project, or simply trying to find the best time for a catch-up with friends, sharing your calendar can make life easier for everyone involved. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to share a calendar on iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Calendar App

To get started, locate and open the Calendar app on your iPhone. The app icon looks like a square with multiple colored squares inside.

Step 2: Select the Calendar

In the bottom center of the screen, you will see four icons. Tap on the “Calendars” icon (it looks like three overlapping squares) to view all of your calendars.

Note:

If you have multiple calendars set up on your device (e.g., work, personal, family), select the calendar you want to share from the list of available options.

Step 3: Tap on “Edit”

In the top left corner of the screen, you will see an “Edit” button. Tap on it to access the settings for your selected calendar.

Step 4: Choose “Add Person”

Scroll down until you see an option labeled “Add Person.” Tap on it to begin adding people with whom you want to share your calendar.

Note:

You may need to grant permission for the Calendar app to access your contacts if it hasn’t been done already. Follow any prompts that appear on-screen to provide necessary permissions.

Step 5: Select Contact

A list of your contacts will appear. Tap on the contact(s) you want to share your calendar with.

Note:

If the person you want to share your calendar with isn’t listed, you can manually enter their email address in the search bar at the top of the screen.

Step 6: Choose Permission Level

After selecting the contact, you will be presented with options to set their permission level. There are three levels available:

  • View Only: The person can only view events on your calendar.
  • Edit: The person can view and make changes to events on your calendar.
  • Edit & Invite: The person can view, make changes, and invite others to events on your calendar.

Note:

You can choose different permission levels for different people you are sharing your calendar with.

Step 7: Send Invitation

Once you have selected the contact and set their permission level, tap on the “Add” button located in the top right corner of the screen. An invitation will be sent to the chosen contact(s).

Congratulations!

You have successfully shared your calendar on iPhone. The recipient(s) will receive an invitation and instructions on how to access and view your shared calendar using their own iPhone or compatible devices.

This feature is not only convenient for personal use but also highly beneficial for collaborative work environments or any situation where multiple people need to stay updated with a shared schedule. With just a few simple steps, you can ensure everyone is on the same page and minimize scheduling conflicts.

Remember, sharing a calendar is a two-way street. If you want to be able to view someone else’s shared calendar, they will need to send you an invitation following the same process.

So go ahead and start sharing your calendar on iPhone today! Stay organized, keep everyone informed, and make scheduling a breeze.
