How to Set Up Autofill on iPhone

Autofill is a convenient feature on the iPhone that allows you to automatically fill in forms and passwords with your personal information. This saves you time and effort when filling out online forms or logging into accounts. In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the steps to enable and customize Autofill on your iPhone.

Step 1: Access the Settings

To begin, unlock your iPhone and locate the “Settings” app. It’s represented by a gear icon and is usually found on the home screen.

Step 2: Find Safari Settings

In the Settings menu, scroll down until you see “Safari” – tap on it to access Safari settings.

Step 3: Enable Autofill

In the Safari settings, scroll down until you find “Autofill” – tap on it to proceed.

Add Contact Information

If you haven’t already set up your contact information on your iPhone, you’ll need to do so before enabling Autofill. To add your contact information:

  • Tap “My Info”: This will open your Contacts list.
  • Select Your Name: Tap on your name from the contacts list to associate it with Autofill.

Add Credit Cards

If you wish to use Autofill for credit card information, follow these steps:

  • Tap “Saved Credit Cards”: This will allow you to add and manage saved credit cards for autofilling payment forms.
  • Add Credit Card Details: Fill in the required fields with your credit card details and tap “Done” when finished.

Step 4: Customize Autofill Options

After enabling Autofill, you can customize its options to suit your preferences. In the Autofill settings, you’ll find options for contact information, passwords, and credit cards. Toggle these options on or off based on your needs.

Step 5: Test Autofill

Now that you’ve set up and customized Autofill, it’s time to test it out. Open a form or website that requires input fields such as name, email address, or password.

When prompted to fill in the information, you’ll notice suggestions from Autofill. Simply tap on the suggestion to automatically fill in the corresponding field.

Note: For security reasons, iOS may prompt you to authenticate using Touch ID or Face ID before autofilling passwords or credit card information.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up and customized Autofill on your iPhone. With this feature enabled, filling out forms and logging into accounts will be a breeze!
