Welcome to this tutorial on how to set a ringtone in Android. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to personalize your Android device by setting a custom ringtone.

Step 1: Select your favorite song

The first step is to choose the song you want as your ringtone. You can pick any song from your music library or download one from a trusted source.

Note:

Make sure the song is in a compatible format (such as MP3) and is saved on your device.

Step 2: Install a file manager app

To set a custom ringtone, you need to have access to the file on your Android device. If you don’t already have a file manager app installed, head over to the Google Play Store and download one. There are many options available, such as ES File Explorer or Solid Explorer.

Step 3: Locate the song on your device

Open the file manager app and navigate to the location where your desired song is saved. It could be in the Downloads folder or any other folder where you have saved it.

Step 4: Copy or move the song

Select the song by long-pressing on it, then choose either “Copy” or “Move” from the options that appear. If you choose “Copy,” it will create a duplicate of the file, while “Move” will relocate it from its current location.

Step 5: Access the ringtones folder

Navigate to the internal storage of your Android device and find a folder named “Ringtones.” If it doesn’t exist, create a new folder and name it “Ringtones.”

Step 6: Paste the song in the ringtones folder

Open the “Ringtones” folder and paste the song you copied or moved in Step 4. The file manager app will perform the necessary actions to complete this process.

Step 7: Set the ringtone

Now that your song is in the “Ringtones” folder, you can set it as your ringtone. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the “Settings” on your Android device.
  2. Select “Sound & vibration” or similar options, depending on your device.
  3. Tap on “Phone ringtone.”
  4. A list of available ringtones will appear. Scroll down to find your newly added song in the “Ringtones” section.
  5. Select your song from the list, and it will be set as your default ringtone.

Congratulations! You have successfully set a custom ringtone on your Android device. Now, whenever someone calls you, you’ll hear your favorite song playing.

Note:

  • If you ever want to change or remove the custom ringtone, simply follow Steps 7 and select a different option or choose the default one.
  • You can repeat these steps to set a specific song as a notification sound or alarm tone by selecting different options within the Settings menu.

We hope this tutorial was helpful in guiding you through setting a ringtone on your Android device. Enjoy personalizing your phone with your favorite tunes!
