How to Screenshot on Mac Book

Are you a Mac Book user? Do you ever find yourself needing to capture what’s on your screen?

Whether it’s for work, school, or just for fun, taking screenshots on your Mac Book is quick and easy. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the different methods available for capturing screenshots on your Mac Book.

Capturing the Entire Screen

If you want to capture everything that’s currently displayed on your screen, follow these simple steps:

  1. Press Command + Shift + 3:

    • The entire screen will be captured.
    • A thumbnail will appear in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
    • The screenshot will be saved as a PNG file on your desktop.
  2. Click the thumbnail:

    • The screenshot will open in a preview window.
    • You can annotate, crop, or make other adjustments using the tools at the top of the preview window.
    • Once you’re satisfied with the result, click “File” and then “Save” to save it in a location of your choice.

Capturing a Portion of the Screen

If you only need to capture a specific portion of your screen, rather than the whole thing, follow these steps:

  1. Press Command + Shift + 4:

    • Your cursor will change into a crosshair.
  2. Click and drag:

    • Click and hold your mouse button, then drag to select the portion of the screen you want to capture.
    • A preview thumbnail will appear in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
    • Release the mouse button to capture the selected area.
  3. Edit and save:

    • The captured screenshot will open in a preview window, where you can annotate, crop, or make other adjustments.
    • Click “File” and then “Save” to save it in a location of your choice.

Capturing a Specific Window

If you only want to capture a specific window, such as an application or browser window, use this method:

  1. Press Command + Shift + 4 + Spacebar:

    • Your cursor will change into a camera icon.
  2. Click on the window you want to capture:

    • The window will be captured along with its drop shadow..
      A preview thumbnail will appear in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
