Are you looking to share your screen on Mac while using Facetime? Screen sharing can be a useful feature when you want to show someone what’s happening on your screen, whether it’s for work or personal reasons. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to screen share on Mac using Facetime.

Step 1: Launch Facetime

To get started, open the Facetime app on your Mac. You can find it in the Applications folder or by searching for it in Spotlight (press Command + Space and type “Facetime”).

Step 2: Make a Call

Next, choose a contact from your address book or enter a phone number or email address in the search bar to make a call. Once you’ve selected the person you want to communicate with, click on their name to initiate the call.

Step 3: Start Screen Sharing

During the call, locate the menu bar at the top of your screen. Click on “Window” and then select “Screen Share” from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Control + Command + S to start screen sharing.

If you don’t see the “Window” option in the menu bar, click on “View” instead and then select “Screen Share”.

Step 4: Choose What to Share

A pop-up window will appear asking you to choose what you want to share. You have two options:

  • Entire Screen: This option allows you to share everything that is currently displayed on your screen.
  • Selected Portion: With this option, you can choose a specific area or application window to share, while keeping the rest of your screen hidden.

Select the option that suits your needs and click on the “Start” button.

Step 5: Control Access

Once you start screen sharing, a red banner will appear at the top of your screen. This banner indicates that your screen is being shared. You will also see a small Facetime window showing your video feed in the corner.

If you want to control who can access your screen, click on the red banner and select “More Options”. From there, you can choose to allow only specific people to control your screen or stop sharing altogether.

Step 6: End Screen Sharing

To stop sharing your screen, simply click on the red banner at the top of your screen and select “Stop Screen Sharing”. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Control + Command + S again to end screen sharing.

That’s it! You have successfully learned how to screen share on Mac using Facetime. Whether you need it for work presentations or helping a friend troubleshoot their computer issues remotely, this feature can be a valuable tool in your Mac’s arsenal.

Note: Screen sharing on Facetime requires a stable internet connection for optimal performance. Make sure you are connected to a reliable network before initiating a call with screen sharing enabled.
