How to Scan With iPhone 13

With the latest iPhone 13, you can now easily scan documents, QR codes, and even objects using the built-in camera. This feature comes in handy when you need to digitize physical documents or quickly access information from QR codes. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of scanning with your iPhone 13.

Step 1: Open the Camera App

To begin, locate the Camera app on your iPhone 13’s home screen and tap on it to launch it. The camera app allows you not only to take photos and videos but also to scan various items.

Step 2: Position the Document or QR Code

Now that you have opened the camera app, ensure that you position your iPhone correctly for scanning. For documents, make sure they are well-lit and placed on a flat surface. Hold your iPhone steady and align it with the document you want to scan.

If you want to scan a QR code instead, ensure that it is within the frame of your camera viewfinder. The camera app will automatically detect and focus on the QR code.

Step 3: Tap to Focus

To get a clear scan, tap on the area of interest within the camera viewfinder. This will help autofocus on that specific area and improve the quality of your scan.

Step 4: Capture

Once you have aligned your document or focused on a QR code, press the capture button located at the bottom center of your screen. This button is represented by a white circle inside a larger gray circle.

Step 5: Review and Edit (optional)

After capturing the scan, a thumbnail of it will appear at the bottom left corner of your screen. You can tap on it to review the image and make any necessary edits.

If you need to crop the document or adjust its perspective, tap on the “Edit” button located at the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up editing options where you can make adjustments as needed.

Step 6: Save or Share

Once you are satisfied with the scan, tap on the “Done” button at the bottom right corner of your screen. This will bring up options to save or share your scanned document.

  • To save: Tap on “Save to Files” if you want to store it in your iPhone’s File app.
• To share: Tap on the share icon (a box with an upward-pointing arrow) to access various sharing options like Messages, Mail, or AirDrop. Choose your desired method and follow the prompts to complete the sharing process.

That’s it! You have successfully scanned a document or QR code using your iPhone 13’s camera app. This convenient feature eliminates the need for external scanning devices and allows you to quickly digitize information whenever needed.

Tips for Better Scanning:

  • Good lighting: Ensure that there is adequate lighting when scanning documents for better image quality.
  • Steady hand: Keep your hand steady while capturing scans to avoid blurry images.
  • Edit afterwards: If necessary, feel free to edit your scan afterwards using built-in tools for cropping, rotating, or adjusting perspective.

Now you can make the most out of your iPhone 13’s scanning capabilities and easily digitize documents, scan QR codes, and more. Happy scanning!
