Are you looking to convert your PowerPoint presentation into a video format on your Mac? Converting your presentation to video can be useful for sharing it online or for playback on devices that don’t have PowerPoint installed. In this tutorial, I will guide you through the steps to save your PowerPoint as a video file on Mac.

Step 1: Open your PowerPoint presentation

First, launch Microsoft PowerPoint on your Mac and open the presentation you want to save as a video. Make any necessary edits or adjustments before proceeding.

Step 2: Set slide timings (optional)

If you want the video to play automatically with specific timings for each slide, you can set slide timings. To do this, click on the “Slide Show” tab in the top menu and then select “Rehearse Timings.” This will allow you to record timings for each slide’s transition and animation.

Note:

If you don’t set slide timings, the video will use the default transition time specified in the “Transitions” tab.

Step 3: Export as a video

Once you are ready to save your presentation as a video, go to the “File” tab in the top menu and select “Export. “

TIP: You can use the keyboard shortcut ⌘ + Shift + S to quickly access the Export options.

In the Export options, choose “Create a Video” from the list of formats.

You can also customize additional settings such as quality, timing, and whether or not to include narration or animation.

Note:

  • If you have recorded narration within your presentation, make sure to tick the box next to “Use Recorded Timings and Narrations. “
  • If you want to save the video in a specific resolution, click on the “Options” button and select the desired resolution from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: Choose a location and save

After selecting your desired settings, click on the “Next” button. You will then be prompted to choose a location on your Mac where you want to save the video file.

Give your video a descriptive name, select the desired folder, and click on the “Save” button.

Step 5: Wait for conversion

The conversion process will now begin. The time it takes to convert your presentation into a video will depend on factors such as the length of your presentation and your computer’s processing power.

Note:

DO NOT close PowerPoint or turn off your Mac while the conversion is in progress.

Step 6: Find and play your video

Once the conversion is complete, navigate to the location where you saved the video file. Double-click on it to open and play it using your default media player.

Congratulations! You have successfully saved your PowerPoint presentation as a video on your Mac. Now you can easily share it or play it back without needing PowerPoint.

I hope this tutorial was helpful in guiding you through the process of converting PowerPoint presentations into videos on Mac. Remember to explore different export options and settings to achieve the desired result for your videos.
