In this tutorial, we will learn how to rotate a video on Android. Sometimes when we capture a video on our Android device, it may be recorded in the wrong orientation.

Fortunately, there are several methods available to rotate videos directly on your Android phone or tablet without the need for any specialized software. Let’s explore these methods below:

Method 1: Using a Video Editor App

If you want to rotate a video without losing its original quality, using a dedicated video editor app is the way to go. There are many video editor apps available on the Google Play Store that offer rotation features.

One such app is KineMaster.

  1. Step 1: Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for “KineMaster”. Install the app and launch it.
  2. Step 2: Tap on the “+” button to create a new project and import the video you want to rotate.
  3. Step 3: Once the video is imported, find the rotation tool in the app’s editing options. It is usually represented by an icon with two arrows forming a circle or a curved arrow.
  4. Step 4: Tap on the rotation tool and choose your desired rotation angle (e.g., 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise).
  5. Step 5: After selecting the rotation angle, preview your changes and tap on “Export” or “Save” to save the rotated video to your device.

Method 2: Using a Video Player App

If you don’t want to install a separate video editor app, you can use a video player app that offers video rotation functionality. One such app is VLC for Android.

  1. Step 1: Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for “VLC for Android”.
  2. Step 2: Tap on the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner of the screen to open the side menu.
  3. Step 3: From the side menu, tap on “Videos” to access your video library.
  4. Step 4: Find and select the video you want to rotate.
  5. Step 5: While playing the video, tap on the screen to reveal playback controls, then tap on the rotation icon (usually represented by an icon with a circular arrow).
  6. Step 6: Rotate the video by tapping on the rotation icon multiple times until you achieve your desired orientation.

Method 3: Using an Online Video Rotator

If you prefer not to install any additional apps on your Android device, you can use an online video rotator service. These services allow you to upload your video to their website and rotate it from there.

One popular online video rotator is EZGif.com.

  1. Step 1: Open a web browser on your Android device and visit EZGif.com (www.ezgif.com/rotate-video).
  2. Step 2: Tap on “Choose File” or “Browse” to select and upload the video you want to rotate.
  3. Step 3: After the video is uploaded, you will see options to rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise by various degrees (e., 90, 180, or 270 degrees).
  4. Step 4: Select your desired rotation angle and click on “Rotate Video”.
  5. Step 5: Wait for the website to process the rotated video. Once done, download the rotated video to your Android device.

By following one of these methods, you can easily rotate a video on your Android device. Whether you prefer using a dedicated video editor app, a video player app with rotation functionality, or an online video rotator service, there are plenty of options available to suit your needs.

Remember to always keep a backup of your original video before making any modifications to ensure you don’t accidentally lose any precious memories. Happy rotating!
