How to Retrieve Archived Emails in Gmail on iPhone
Have you ever accidentally archived an important email in Gmail on your iPhone and then struggled to find it again? Don’t worry, retrieving archived emails is a simple process that can be done directly from your iPhone.
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to easily retrieve your archived emails in Gmail on your iPhone.
Step 1: Open the Gmail App
To begin, locate and tap on the Gmail app icon on your iPhone’s home screen. The Gmail app is represented by a red and white envelope icon.
Step 2: Access the Sidebar Menu
Once you have opened the Gmail app, you need to access the sidebar menu. To do this, tap on the three horizontal lines icon located at the top-left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Navigate to All Mail
In the sidebar menu, scroll down and find the “All Mail” option. Tap on it to open your entire email archive.
Step 4: Locate Archived Emails
In the “All Mail” section, you will find all of your archived emails mixed together with your other emails. To filter out only the archived emails, tap on the search bar at the top of the screen.
Substep 4.1: Search for Archived Emails
To search specifically for archived emails, type “is:archived” (without quotes) in the search bar and hit enter or tap “Search”. This will display only your archived emails.2: Filter Further (Optional)
If you have a large number of archived emails and want to narrow down your search even more, you can add additional search terms or filters in the search bar. For example, if you remember the sender’s name or specific keywords from the email, you can include them in your search query.
Step 5: Open Archived Email
Once you have located the archived email you want to retrieve, simply tap on it to open and view its content. From here, you can read the email, reply to it, or perform any other actions as needed.
Step 6: Move Email Out of Archive
To remove an email from the archive and bring it back to your inbox or another label/folder, tap on the folder icon with an arrow pointing upwards. This icon is located at the top-right corner of the screen when viewing an archived email.
Substep 6.1: Choose Destination Label/Folder
After tapping on the folder icon, a list of labels/folders will appear. Select the label/folder where you want to move the email.
If you want to move it back to your inbox, choose “Inbox”.
Substep 6.2: Confirm Move
Once you have selected the destination label/folder, tap on “Move” or “Move Here” (depending on your device) to complete the process. The email will be moved out of the archive and into the selected label/folder.
Congratulations! You have successfully retrieved an archived email in Gmail on your iPhone.
Remember that archiving emails is a great way to keep your inbox organized while still having easy access to important messages.
Note: If you are using the default Mail app on your iPhone to access Gmail, the steps to retrieve archived emails may vary slightly. It is recommended to use the official Gmail app for the best experience.
