How to Remove Cookies From Mac

Clearing Cookies in Safari

If you are using Safari as your default browser on your Mac, follow these steps to remove cookies:

  • Step 1:

    Launch the Safari browser by clicking on its icon in the Dock or searching for it in Spotlight.

  • Step 2:

    In the top menu, click on Safari and then select Preferences.

  • Step 3:

    A new window will open. Click on the Privacy tab at the top of the window.

  • Step 4:

    In the Privacy tab, click on the Manage Website Data.. button.

  • Note: If you want to remove all cookies and website data, simply click on “Remove All” at the bottom of this window. If you only want to delete specific cookies, continue with step 5.

To remove specific cookies:

  • Note: You can search for specific websites or sort the list by name, domain, or other criteria.
  • Step 5:

    In the search field, type the name of the website for which you want to remove cookies.

  • Step 6:

    Select the website from the list and click on the Remove button. This will delete the cookies associated with that website.

To remove all cookies:

  • Step 5:

    If you want to remove all cookies, click on the Remove All button instead of searching for a specific website.

  • Step 6:

    A confirmation dialog will appear. Click on the Remove Now button to delete all cookies and website data.

  • Clearing Cookies in Chrome

    If you prefer using Google Chrome as your browser, follow these steps to clear cookies on your Mac:

  • Step 1:

    Open Google Chrome by clicking on its icon in the Dock or searching for it in Spotlight.

  • Step 2:

    • In the top menu, click on “Chrome” and select “Preferences”. Alternatively, you can press “Command + ,” (comma) on your keyboard.
    • A new window will open with various settings options.
  • To remove specific cookies:

  • Step 3:

    In the left sidebar of the settings window, click on “Privacy and security”.

  • Step 4:

    Scroll down and click on “Cookies and other site data”.

  • Step 5:

    In the “All cookies and site data” section, you can search for specific websites or scroll through the list to find the website whose cookies you want to remove.

  • Step 6:

    • Click on the trash can icon next to the website name to delete its cookies.
    • A confirmation dialog will appear. Click on “Remove” to delete the selected cookies.
  • To remove all cookies:

  • Step 5:

    If you want to remove all cookies, scroll to the top of the “Cookies and other site data” section and click on “Remove All”.

  • Note: A confirmation dialog will appear. Click on “Clear All” to delete all cookies and site data.
  • Congratulations! You have successfully cleared cookies from your Mac browser. By regularly removing cookies, you can enhance your online privacy and protect your personal information.

    Remember: Clearing cookies will sign you out of websites and may remove saved preferences, so be prepared to re-enter login information and customize certain settings.
