How to Remove App From Android Home Screen

Is your Android home screen cluttered with too many apps? Don’t worry, removing unwanted apps from your home screen is a breeze.

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the simple steps to remove apps from your Android home screen.

Step 1: Locate the App Icon

To get started, find the app icon that you want to remove from your home screen. It could be located on any of your home screens or in the app drawer.

Step 2: Long Press on the App Icon

Once you have found the app icon, simply long press on it. This action will activate the editing mode, allowing you to customize or remove the app from your home screen.

Step 3: Drag and Drop to Remove

While still holding down on the app icon, drag it towards the top of your screen where it says “Remove” or “Uninstall.” You might need to drag it over an “X” symbol depending on your device’s interface.

As you reach this area, release your finger to drop and remove the app from your home screen.

Note:

  • If you see an option called “Uninstall,” it means that dragging and dropping will not only remove it from the home screen but also uninstall it completely from your device.
  • If dragging and dropping does not work for some reason, look for a trash bin or delete icon at the top or bottom of your screen. Dragging and dropping onto this icon will also remove the app.
  • If neither of those options work, try tapping and holding on an empty space on your home screen. This will bring up a menu that allows you to add, remove, or customize app icons.

Step 4: Confirm the Removal

After dragging and dropping the app icon, you may be prompted to confirm the removal. Read through the message and make sure you want to proceed with removing the app from your home screen.

If you are certain, tap “OK” or “Confirm” to complete the process.

Step 5: App Removed!

Congratulations! You have successfully removed the app from your Android home screen.

The app icon will no longer be visible on any of your home screens.

Remember that removing an app from your home screen does not uninstall it from your device. The app will still be accessible through the app drawer or settings menu if you ever need it again.

Now that you know how to remove apps from your Android home screen, take a few moments to declutter and organize your device. Enjoy a cleaner and more efficient user experience!
