Are you tired of struggling to hear phone calls on your iPhone? The speakerphone feature can come in handy in situations where you need to be hands-free or when you simply want to amplify the sound. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of putting your iPhone on speaker so that you can enjoy clear and louder audio.

Step 1: Unlock Your iPhone

If your iPhone is locked, press the home button or use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock it.

Step 2: Open the Phone App

Locate and tap the Phone app on your home screen. The Phone app icon looks like a green phone receiver.

Step 3: Select a Contact (Optional)

If you want to put a specific call on speaker, select the contact from your recent calls, favorites, or contacts list. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Make a Call

To put your iPhone on speaker during an ongoing call, tap the green “Call” button next to the contact’s name or number. This will connect your call and activate the earpiece speaker by default.

Note:

If you haven’t yet made a call, you can skip Step 3 and proceed directly to Step 4 after opening the Phone app.

Step 5: Enable Speakerphone

To switch to speakerphone mode and enjoy hands-free calling, simply tap the “Speaker” option located at the bottom of your screen during an active call. The “Speaker” option will be highlighted in blue when activated.

  • TIP: You can also enable speakerphone mode before making a call by tapping the “Speaker” option first, and then dialing the number or selecting a contact.
  • TIP: If you are using headphones or Bluetooth devices, make sure to disconnect them to ensure that the audio is routed through the iPhone’s speaker.

Step 6: Adjust Speaker Volume

If you need to adjust the speaker volume, use the volume buttons on the side of your iPhone. Press the volume up button to increase the volume and press the volume down button to decrease it. The current volume level will be indicated by a speaker icon on your screen.

Step 7: End the Call

To end your call, tap the red “End” button located at the bottom of your screen. This will disconnect your call and deactivate speakerphone mode.

Congratulations! You have successfully put your iPhone on speaker mode and can now enjoy hands-free calling with improved audio quality. Whether you are in a conference call or just want to multitask while chatting with friends, this feature can make your life easier.
