How to Print in Black and White on Canon Pixma Mac

Printing documents in black and white can be a great way to save ink and give your documents a sleek, professional look. If you own a Canon Pixma printer and have a Mac computer, learning how to print in black and white is quick and easy. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the process step by step.

Step 1: Open the Document

If you haven’t done so already, open the document that you want to print on your Mac. Make sure it’s saved and ready for printing.

Step 2: Access Print Settings

To access the print settings, press Command + P on your keyboard or go to File > Print from the menu bar at the top of your screen. This will open the print dialog box.

Step 3: Select Printer Options

In the print dialog box, locate and select your Canon Pixma printer from the list of available printers. Once selected, click on the Printer.. or Show Details button to expand additional options.

If you do not see these options immediately, look for an arrow or disclosure triangle that allows you to expand or show more settings.

Step 4: Choose Black & White Printing Mode

In the expanded printer options, look for a dropdown menu labeled Color/Quality, Paper Type/Quality, or similar. Click on this dropdown menu to reveal different printing modes.

  • Select “Black & White” or “Grayscale” from the available options. This will instruct your printer to print in black and white.
  • Depending on your printer model, you may also have the option to choose a specific grayscale quality or adjust other print settings. Feel free to explore these options as needed.

Step 5: Print Your Document

After selecting the black and white printing mode, verify any other print settings you wish to adjust (e.g., paper size, orientation) and then click on the Print button to start printing your document.

Congratulations! You have successfully printed your document in black and white using your Canon Pixma printer on your Mac. Enjoy the professional look of your printed materials while saving ink at the same time.

If you want to switch back to color printing, simply repeat the above steps but select a color printing mode instead of black and white.

We hope this tutorial has been helpful! If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, consult your printer’s user manual or contact Canon support for more guidance.

Happy printing!
