How to Name a Text Group on iPhone

Have you ever found it difficult to keep track of your group conversations on your iPhone? With the latest iOS update, you can now easily name your text groups, making it easier to identify and organize your conversations.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to name a text group on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Messages app

To get started, locate and open the Messages app on your iPhone’s home screen. It is the green icon with a white speech bubble.

Step 2: Open the desired group conversation

Next, find and tap on the group conversation that you want to name. This will open up the conversation thread.

Step 3: Tap on the “i” icon

At the top-right corner of the screen, you will find an “i” icon. Tap on it to access more information about the group conversation.

Step 4: Tap on “Enter a Group Name”

Scroll down until you see the option “Enter a Group Name”. Tap on it to proceed.

Step 5: Type in a name for the group

Now, you can type in a name for your text group using the keyboard that appears. Choose a name that best represents the purpose or members of the group conversation.

Tips:

  • Be descriptive: Use a name that clearly identifies what the group is about or who is part of it.
  • Avoid generic names: Try to avoid vague or common names that could be confused with other group conversations.
  • Keep it concise: Use a short and memorable name to make it easy to recognize the group.

Step 6: Tap on “Done”

After you have entered a name for your text group, tap on “Done” at the top-right corner of the screen to save the changes.

Step 7: Enjoy your named text group!

Congratulations! You have successfully named your text group on iPhone.

Now, whenever you receive a message from that group, you will see the chosen name displayed at the top of the conversation thread. This makes it easier to identify and locate your group conversations amidst other messages on your iPhone.

Note: Please keep in mind that this feature is only available on iPhones running iOS 14 or later. If you don’t see the option to name a text group, make sure your device is updated to the latest iOS version.

Now you can better organize your group conversations and never mix them up again! Enjoy using this handy feature on your iPhone.
