How to Mark All Emails as Read on iPhone

If you are someone who receives a large number of emails on your iPhone and find it tedious to manually mark each email as read, there’s good news for you! In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of marking all emails as read on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Mail App

To begin, locate and tap on the Mail app icon on your iPhone’s home screen. The Mail app usually has a white envelope icon with a blue background.

Step 2: Select the Inbox Folder

Once you have opened the Mail app, you will be presented with different folders such as Inbox, Sent, Drafts, and more. Tap on the “Inbox” folder to access your incoming emails.

Step 3: Access the Edit Mode

In order to mark multiple emails as read simultaneously, you need to enter the Edit mode. To do this, tap on the “Edit” button located at the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 4: Select Multiple Emails

Once in Edit mode, you can now select multiple emails that you want to mark as read. Tap on each email’s circular checkbox located at the left side of their respective subject lines.

As you select an email, a blue checkmark will appear indicating that it has been selected.

Note: If you want to select all emails in your inbox at once, tap on the circular checkbox located at the top-left corner of the screen.

Step 5: Mark Emails as Read

After selecting the desired emails, you can now mark them as read. Locate and tap on the “Mark” button at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

A menu will appear with various options.

In this menu, tap on the “Mark as Read” option. This action will mark all selected emails as read instantly.

Step 6: Verify Emails are Marked as Read

To confirm that the emails have been successfully marked as read, go back to your inbox and observe that the selected emails no longer have a bold subject line. Instead, they will appear with a normal font weight indicating that they have been read.

Additional Tips:

  • If you accidentally marked some emails as read and want to undo it, simply follow the same steps above but choose the “Mark as Unread” option instead.
  • If you have multiple email accounts linked to your iPhone, ensure that you are in the correct inbox folder before proceeding with marking all emails as read.
  • Remember to periodically check your spam or junk folders for any important emails that might have been filtered incorrectly.
