Are you someone who likes to jot down important notes on your iPhone? Whether it’s a grocery list, a secret recipe, or even personal thoughts, the Notes app on iPhone is a handy tool for keeping track of all your ideas and reminders.

But what if you want to keep certain notes private and secure from prying eyes? In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to lock notes on iPhone using the built-in feature. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Open the Notes App

To begin, locate the Notes app on your iPhone’s home screen and tap on it to open it. The Notes app has a yellow icon with a white notepad and pen.

Step 2: Create a New Note

In the Notes app, tap on the “+” button at the bottom center of the screen to create a new note. Alternatively, you can also open an existing note that you want to lock.

Step 3: Add Content to Your Note

Once you have opened a new or existing note, start adding your desired content. This can include text, images, checklists, or even sketches – feel free to be creative!

Step 4: Access Note Lock Options

Now that you have added your content, tap on the share icon located in the top-right corner of the screen. The share icon looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards.

Note Lock Options:

  • Lock Note: Selecting this option will allow you to set a password or use Touch ID/Face ID to lock your note.
  • Show Locked Note: This option allows you to view and edit the contents of a locked note by entering the password or using Touch ID/Face ID.
  • Remove Lock: If you no longer wish to keep a note locked, this option will remove the lock from the note.

Step 5: Set a Password or Use Touch ID/Face ID

Tap on “Lock Note” to proceed with locking your note. If you are setting a password for the first time, you will be prompted to create a password and verify it. Alternatively, if your iPhone supports Touch ID or Face ID, you can use these options for added convenience and security.

Step 6: Confirm Locking Your Note

After setting up your preferred lock method, you will be asked to confirm locking the note. Tap on “Lock” to finalize the process.

Congratulations!

Your note is now securely locked! It will appear with a padlock icon in the list of notes.

You can repeat these steps for any other notes you wish to lock on your iPhone. Remember, only you can access and unlock these locked notes using your chosen password or biometric authentication method.

With this simple guide, you can now keep your private information safe within the Notes app on your iPhone. So go ahead and start locking those important notes!
