Are you concerned about the privacy of certain apps on your iPhone? Do you want to restrict access to specific applications on your device?

Well, you’re in luck! In this article, we will guide you through the process of locking apps on your iPhone, ensuring that only authorized users can access them. So let’s get started!

Step 1: Install a Third-Party App Locker

To lock apps on your iPhone, you’ll need to rely on a third-party app locker as iOS does not provide built-in functionality for this feature. There are several app lockers available on the App Store, but for this tutorial, we’ll be using the popular “AppLocker” app. Follow these steps to install it:

  • Open the App Store on your iPhone.
  • Tap on the “Search” tab at the bottom of the screen.
  • Type “AppLocker” into the search bar and press enter.
  • When you see “AppLocker – Password & Touch ID” in the search results, tap on it.
  • Tap on the “Get” button next to the app’s name.
  • If prompted, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or enter your Apple ID password to download and install the app.

Step 2: Configure AppLocker

Once you’ve installed AppLocker, follow these steps to configure it and lock specific apps:

  • Open AppLocker from your home screen.
  • You will be prompted to set a passcode. Enter a secure passcode that you will remember but others won’t easily guess.
  • After setting up a passcode, you’ll be presented with a list of all the apps installed on your iPhone.
  • Tap on the toggle switch next to each app that you want to lock. When the switch turns red, it means the app is locked.
  • Once you’ve selected all the apps you want to lock, tap on the back button.

Step 3: Test App Locking

To ensure that your app locking settings are working correctly, follow these steps to test them:

  • Exit AppLocker and go back to your home screen.
  • Try opening one of the locked apps by tapping on its icon.
  • You will be prompted to enter your passcode or authenticate with Face ID/Touch ID. Only after successful authentication will you be able to access the app.

Note:

Remember that AppLocker only locks access to apps from the home screen. It does not affect incoming notifications or widgets associated with locked apps.

Additionally, some system-level functions like Siri and phone calls may still be accessible even if an app is locked.

So there you have it! By following these simple steps and using a third-party app locker like AppLocker, you can easily lock specific apps on your iPhone and protect your privacy.

Enjoy a more secure experience on your device!
