How to Hide Notifications on Lock Screen iPhone

Welcome to this tutorial on how to hide notifications on your iPhone’s lock screen. If you are concerned about privacy or simply want a clutter-free lock screen, this guide will walk you through the steps to customize your notification settings.

Step 1: Open Settings

To begin, unlock your iPhone and locate the Settings app icon on your home screen. It resembles a gear wheel. Tap on it to open the Settings menu.

Step 2: Access Notifications

In the Settings menu, scroll down and find the “Notifications” option. It should be listed below “Control Center” and above “Sounds & Haptics.” Tap on “Notifications” to proceed.

Step 3: Select App

Once you are in the Notifications menu, you will see a list of all the apps installed on your iPhone. Scroll through the list and select the app for which you wish to hide notifications on the lock screen.

Step 4: Customize Notification Settings

After selecting an app, you will be presented with various notification options for that specific app. To hide notifications from appearing on your lock screen, toggle off the “Allow Notifications” switch at the top of the screen.

If you still want to receive notifications but want them hidden from the lock screen, keep “Allow Notifications” enabled and proceed to customize other settings.

Show Previews

  • Never: This option completely hides previews of notifications both when locked and unlocked.
  • When Unlocked: This option allows previews only when your iPhone is unlocked but hides them when locked.
  • Always: This option shows previews of notifications both when locked and unlocked.

Select the option that suits your preference under the “Show Previews” section.

Notification Grouping

In some cases, you may receive multiple notifications from the same app. To keep your lock screen tidy, you can choose to group these notifications together or display them individually.

  • Automatic: This option groups notifications based on the app’s settings.
  • By App: This option groups all notifications from a specific app together.
  • Off: This option displays each notification individually without any grouping.

Select your preferred grouping option under the “Notification Grouping” section.

Step 5: Repeat for Other Apps (Optional)

If you want to hide notifications on the lock screen for other apps as well, repeat steps 3 and 4 for each app individually.

Step 6: Lock Your iPhone

To see the changes you’ve made, lock your iPhone by pressing the power button on the side or top of your device. Now, when you wake up your iPhone, you should no longer see any notifications on the lock screen for the apps you’ve customized.

Congratulations! You have successfully learned how to hide notifications on your iPhone’s lock screen. Remember that you can always revisit these settings in the Notifications menu if you wish to make further adjustments.

Thank you for reading this tutorial. We hope it was helpful and that you now have a more personalized lock screen experience on your iPhone!
