How to Hide a Photo on iPhone

Do you have photos on your iPhone that you want to keep private or out of sight? Fortunately, Apple provides a built-in feature that allows you to hide photos in the Photos app.

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of hiding your photos on an iPhone. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Open the Photos App

To begin, unlock your iPhone and locate the Photos app. It is represented by a multicolored flower icon.

Tap on it to open.

Step 2: Select the Photo(s) You Want to Hide

Once you are in the Photos app, navigate to the album containing the photo(s) you wish to hide. You can select multiple photos by tapping on them one by one or by swiping across them.

Note:

  • You can also hide an entire album instead of individual photos.
  • Hidden photos will be moved to a separate “Hidden” album.

Step 3: Tap on the Share Icon

After selecting the desired photo(s), tap on the share icon located at the bottom left corner of your screen. The share icon is represented by a square with an upward arrow.

Step 4: Find and Tap on “Hide”

Upon tapping the share icon, a list of options will appear. Scroll through until you find “Hide” and tap on it.

Note:

  • If “Hide” does not appear in the list, swipe left until you see “More”. Tap on “More” and toggle the “Hide” option to enable it.

Step 5: Confirm the Action

A confirmation pop-up will appear, asking if you want to hide the selected photo(s). Tap on “Hide Photo” to proceed.

Step 6: Accessing Hidden Photos

To view your hidden photos, go back to the Albums tab in the Photos app. Scroll down until you find the “Hidden” album.

Tap on it to access your hidden photos.

Note:

  • The “Hidden” album will only appear if there are hidden photos on your device.
  • You can unhide photos by selecting them in the “Hidden” album and tapping on the share icon. Then, tap on “Unhide”.

That’s it! You have successfully hidden your photos on your iPhone.

Now you can keep them private and secure, away from prying eyes.

Remember that while this feature hides photos from the main albums, they can still be accessed through the “Hidden” album. For enhanced privacy, consider using additional security measures such as passcodes or Touch ID/Face ID for your iPhone.

We hope this tutorial has been helpful in guiding you through hiding photos on your iPhone. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to Apple Support or consult the user manual for your device.
