Method 1: Using Text Messaging Apps

Many text messaging apps offer features that allow you to create and manage message groups. One popular app that provides this functionality is Google Messages.

Step 1: Install Google Messages

If you don’t have Google Messages installed on your device, head over to the Google Play Store and download it. Once installed, set it as your default messaging app.

Step 2: Create a Group

To create a group in Google Messages, follow these steps:

  1. Open the app and tap on the New conversation button located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Method 2: Using Labels in Gmail

If you prefer managing your text messages through email, you can utilize the Gmail app to group and organize them using labels.

Step 1: Install Gmail

If you don’t have the Gmail app installed on your device, download it from the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Configure Gmail to Receive Text Messages

To receive text messages in your Gmail app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Gmail app and tap on the menu icon located at the top-left corner of the screen.
  2. Select Settings from the menu options.
  3. Tap on your email address to access account settings.
  4. Select Manage your Google Account.
  5. In the new window, tap on Personal info & privacy.
  6. Scroll down and select Your personal info.
  7. Navigate to the section labeled as “Contact info” and tap on your phone number.
  8. In the following page, ensure that “Messages” is turned on.

Your text messages will now be received in your Gmail inbox as emails. You can proceed with grouping them using labels.

Step 3: Create a Label and Apply it to Text Messages

To create a label in Gmail and apply it to text messages, perform these steps:

  1. In your Gmail inbox, locate a text message that you want to group.
  2. Long-press on the message until a selection box appears. Tap on it and select additional messages if necessary.
    • You can also select multiple messages by tapping on the checkbox icon at the top-left corner of each message.
  3. Tap on the three-dot menu icon located at the top-right corner of the screen.
  4. Select Change labels.
  5. Tap on Create new and provide a name for your label in the dialog box that appears.
  6. Tap on Apply to assign the label to your selected messages.

Your text messages are now grouped using labels in Gmail. You can access them anytime by navigating to the corresponding label in your inbox.
