iPhone, Tutorials

If you are an Apple Watch owner, you know how convenient it can be to have all your notifications and health data right on your wrist. But what happens when you misplace your Apple Watch?

Don’t worry, Apple has made it easy to find your device using your iPhone. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps of finding your Apple Watch with your iPhone.

Requirements:

  • An iPhone running iOS 13 or later
  • An Apple Watch paired with your iPhone

Step 1: Open the Find My App

To begin the process of finding your Apple Watch, open the Find My app on your iPhone. This app is pre-installed on devices running iOS 13 or later, so you don’t need to download anything.

Step 2: Select the Devices Tab

Once you have opened the Find My app, tap on the “Devices” tab at the bottom of the screen. This tab will show a list of all the devices associated with your Apple ID.

Step 3: Choose Your Apple Watch

In the list of devices, locate and select your Apple Watch. This will open a new screen with information about your watch.

Step 4: Tap on “Play Sound”

On the information screen for your Apple Watch, look for the option that says “Play Sound” and tap on it. This will trigger a loud sound on your watch, making it easier to locate if it is nearby.

Note:

If you do not hear a sound coming from your watch, make sure that it is not in silent mode and that it is within Bluetooth range of your iPhone.

Step 5: Use the Map

If your Apple Watch is not within Bluetooth range or you are unable to hear the sound, you can use the map feature in the Find My app to see its last known location. To access the map, tap on the “Actions” button at the bottom of the information screen and select “Directions to Here” or “Notify When Found” depending on your preference.

Note:

The map feature requires a Wi-Fi or cellular connection on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Step 6: Mark as Lost

If you are unable to find your Apple Watch using the previous steps, you can mark it as lost. This will enable features such as Activation Lock and prevent anyone else from pairing your watch with their iPhone.

To mark your watch as lost, tap on the “Actions” button at the bottom of the information screen and select “Mark As Lost”. Follow the prompts to complete the process.

Step 7: Erase Your Apple Watch

If you believe that your Apple Watch is lost for good or if you want to ensure that no one can access your personal data, you have the option to erase it remotely. To do this, tap on the “Actions” button at the bottom of the information screen and select “Erase This Device”. Confirm your selection and follow any additional prompts to erase your watch.

By following these steps, you can easily find and locate your Apple Watch using your iPhone. Whether it’s playing a sound, checking its last known location on a map, or taking more drastic measures like marking it as lost or erasing it remotely, Apple has provided a way for users to keep their devices secure and easily recover them if they go missing.
