In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to download files from your iPhone directly to iCloud. This can be a useful feature when you want to free up space on your device or simply want to keep your files safely stored in the cloud. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Open the Files App

To begin with, locate and open the “Files” app on your iPhone. This app allows you to manage and access all of your files, including those stored in iCloud.

Step 2: Access iCloud Drive

Once you have opened the Files app, you will see various locations listed. Look for “iCloud Drive” and tap on it to access your iCloud storage.

Step 3: Navigate to the Desired Folder

Within iCloud Drive, navigate through the folders until you find the specific folder where your desired file is located. Tap on the folder to open it.

Step 4: Select the File(s) You Want to Download

Now that you are in the correct folder, browse through its contents and locate the file(s) you want to download. To select multiple files, simply tap and hold on one file until it is highlighted, then tap on additional files to select them as well.

Step 5: Tap on Download

After selecting the desired file(s), look for the share icon (a square with an arrow pointing upward) located at the bottom-left corner of the screen. Tap on it to reveal a list of options.

In this list of options, choose “Save to Files”. This action will prompt a pop-up menu with various destinations where you can save your selected file(s).

Step 6: Choose a Download Destination

In the pop-up menu, you will see a list of available locations where you can save your files. Select the desired location within your device where you want to download the file(s). If you want to keep it in iCloud Drive, simply choose “iCloud Drive”.

Once you have selected the destination, tap on “Add” or “Save” (depending on your device) located at the top-right corner of the screen. The selected file(s) will then begin downloading to the chosen location.

Additional Tips:

  • If you don’t see the Files app on your iPhone, make sure it is installed. You can download it for free from the App Store.
  • Ensure that you have a stable internet connection when downloading files from iCloud.
  • If you want to save storage space on your iPhone, consider deleting files from your device after successfully downloading them to iCloud.

That’s it! You have successfully learned how to download files directly to iCloud from your iPhone using the Files app. This convenient feature allows you to easily manage and access your files across multiple devices while keeping them safely stored in the cloud.
