Are you tired of constantly switching between windows on your Mac? Do you wish you could easily split your screen and work on two apps simultaneously?

Well, you’re in luck! In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to do half screen on Mac, allowing you to multitask like a pro.

Step 1: Activate Split View

To begin, open the first app that you want to use in Split View. Once the app is open, click and hold the green full-screen button located in the top-left corner of the window. After a moment, you’ll see the window shrink and a translucent outline appear.

Note: If your app doesn’t support Split View or if the green button doesn’t work, you can still achieve half screen by manually resizing and positioning windows using the mouse.

Step 2: Choose Second App

Now that Split View is activated for your first app, it’s time to select the second app for your half screen setup. Simply move your cursor over other open apps or click on one of them to bring it into focus. As you hover over each app, it will be highlighted with a blue outline.

Pro Tip: If you have multiple desktop spaces set up on your Mac, you can also switch between them while choosing your second app. Just swipe left or right with three fingers on your trackpad or use Control + Left/Right Arrow keys.

Step 3: Enter Split View

After selecting the second app, click on it once to enter Split View mode. The screen will automatically split into two halves, with each app occupying one side. You can now release the mouse button or trackpad and start working with both apps side by side.

Step 4: Adjust Screen Split

If you’re not satisfied with the default split configuration, you can easily adjust it. Move your cursor to the black divider between the two apps until it changes into a double-headed arrow. Click and drag the divider left or right to increase or decrease the size of each app’s window.

Note: You can also resize windows independently by clicking and dragging their edges or corners.

Step 5: Exit Split View

To exit Split View and return to a single full-screen app, move your cursor to the top of the screen until you see the menu bar. Next, click on the green full-screen button in either of the two app windows, or press Control + Command + F on your keyboard.

Pro Tip: If you prefer using keyboard shortcuts, you can switch between apps in Split View by pressing Control + Left Arrow or Control + Right Arrow.

In conclusion,

Split View is a fantastic feature that streamlines your workflow and boosts productivity on your Mac. With just a few simple steps, you can easily set up half screen mode and work efficiently with multiple apps side by side. So go ahead and give it a try!
