How to Disable Voice Control on iPhone

Are you tired of accidentally triggering Voice Control on your iPhone? Don’t worry, disabling this feature is a simple process that can save you from any unwanted interruptions. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to disable Voice Control on your iPhone.

Step 1: Open Your Settings

To begin, unlock your iPhone and locate the “Settings” app. It is represented by a gray icon with gears.

Step 2: Navigate to Accessibility Settings

Once you are in the Settings app, scroll down until you find the “Accessibility” option. Tap on it to access the accessibility settings.

Step 3: Find and Select Voice Control

In the Accessibility settings, search for “Voice Control.” This option should be under the “Physical and Motor” category. Once you find it, tap on it to enter its settings.

Step 4: Turn Off Voice Control

In the Voice Control settings, you will see a toggle switch labeled “Voice Control.” By default, this switch is turned on.

To disable Voice Control, simply tap on the switch to turn it off. Once disabled, the switch will no longer have a green background.


If you ever want to re-enable Voice Control in the future, simply follow these steps and turn on the toggle switch in the Voice Control settings.

Step 5: Exit Settings

After disabling Voice Control successfully, exit the Settings app by pressing the home button or using gesture navigation if your device supports it.

  • TIP: If you frequently run into issues with unintended activation of Voice Control, you can also consider disabling Siri on the lock screen. This will prevent Voice Control from being triggered when your iPhone is locked.

    To disable Siri on the lock screen, go to “Settings” > “Face ID & Passcode” or “Touch ID & Passcode,” depending on your device model, and turn off the toggle switch next to “Siri & Suggestions. “
