There’s nothing more annoying than spam messages flooding your Android device. Fortunately, there are ways to combat this digital nuisance and keep your inbox clutter-free. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of deleting spam messages on Android.

Step 1: Open the Messaging App
Firstly, locate and open the messaging app on your Android device. This is usually represented by an icon with a speech bubble or the word “Messages”.

Step 2: Access the Spam Folder
Once you have opened the messaging app, look for the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Tap on this icon to reveal a dropdown menu of options. From this menu, select “Spam” or “Spam Messages” to access your spam folder.

Step 3: Select and Delete Spam Messages
In the spam folder, you will see a list of messages that have been flagged as spam by your device. To delete these messages, simply long-press on one of them until it is highlighted. This will activate the selection mode.

  • To select multiple spam messages at once, tap on each message to add it to your selection.
  • You can also tap on the checkbox located at the top-left corner of each message to automatically select all messages in the folder.
  • Once you have selected all the spam messages you want to delete, look for an icon or option that represents deleting or removing. It might be an icon with a trash bin or a word like “Delete” or “Remove”. Tap on this option to permanently delete the selected spam messages.

Note: Be cautious when selecting and deleting spam messages, as there is no way to recover them once they have been deleted.

Step 4: Empty the Spam Folder
After deleting the spam messages, it’s a good practice to empty the spam folder to ensure that no traces of these unwanted messages remain on your device. To do this, navigate back to the spam folder and look for an option like “Empty” or “Delete All”. Tap on this option to remove all the remaining spam messages in one go.

Step 5: Enable Spam Filter (Optional)
If your messaging app provides a spam filter feature, it’s recommended to enable it. This will help prevent future spam messages from cluttering your inbox.

To enable the spam filter, go back to the main screen of your messaging app and access its settings. Look for an option related to spam filtering or blocking and follow the on-screen instructions to activate it.

You have successfully deleted spam messages from your Android device. By periodically checking and clearing your spam folder, you can maintain a clean and organized messaging experience.

Tips for Avoiding Spam Messages

To further minimize the chances of receiving spam messages on your Android device, keep these tips in mind:

  • Be cautious when sharing your phone number online or with unknown sources.
  • Avoid clicking on suspicious links in text messages.
  • Regularly check and update your messaging app for any security patches or improvements.
  • If possible, consider using a reputable third-party messaging app that offers advanced security features.
