iPhone, Tutorials

Deleting messages on iPhone can be a useful way to keep your conversations organized and free up some valuable storage space. However, deleting messages only from your side might not be enough if you want to completely remove them from both sides of the conversation. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of deleting messages on iPhone from both sides.

Step 1: Open the Messages App

To start, locate and open the Messages app on your iPhone. It is usually represented by a green speech bubble icon.

Step 2: Select the Conversation

In the Messages app, find the conversation that contains the messages you want to delete. Tap on it to open the conversation.

Step 3: Tap and Hold

Once inside the conversation, locate the specific message that you wish to delete from both sides. Tap and hold on that message until a menu appears.

Step 4: Choose ‘More..’

In the menu that appears after tapping and holding on a message, select ‘More.’ This will allow you to select multiple messages for deletion.

Step 5: Select Messages

After selecting ‘More.’, you will see checkboxes appearing beside each message in the conversation. Tap on each message that you want to delete from both sides. A blue checkmark will appear next to selected messages.

TIP:

If you want to select all messages in the conversation, tap on ‘Select All’ at the top left corner of your screen.

Step 6: Tap Delete

Once you have selected all the desired messages for deletion, locate and tap on ‘Delete’ at the bottom right corner of your screen.

Step 7: Confirm Deletion

A confirmation prompt will appear, asking if you want to delete the selected messages. Choose ‘Delete Messages’ to proceed.

Step 8: Messages Deleted

Congratulations! You have successfully deleted the selected messages from both sides of the conversation. The messages will no longer be visible to you or the recipient.

TIP:

If you have accidentally deleted some important messages, don’t worry! You can recover them by restoring a recent backup of your iPhone through iTunes or iCloud.

Deleting messages on iPhone from both sides ensures that your conversations remain private and clutter-free. By following these simple steps, you can easily manage your messages and keep your device organized.

Remember to exercise caution while deleting messages, as once they are deleted, they cannot be retrieved without a backup. Happy messaging!
