So, you’ve decided to delete your Instagram account on Android? Whether you’re taking a break from social media or just want to start fresh, deleting your Instagram account is a simple process. In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to delete your Instagram account on an Android device.

Before You Begin

Before we get started, it’s important to note that deleting your Instagram account is permanent. Once you delete your account, all of your photos, videos, comments, likes, and followers will be permanently removed.

If you think you might want to come back to Instagram in the future, consider temporarily disabling your account instead of deleting it. Disabling allows you to reactivate your account later without losing any data or followers.

Step 1: Launch the Instagram App

To begin the process of deleting your Instagram account on Android, open the Instagram app on your device. Look for the familiar icon with a camera in the center and tap on it.

Step 2: Access Your Profile Settings

Once the app is open, tap on the profile icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen. This will take you to your profile page.

Note:

If you’re logged in with multiple accounts, make sure you’re on the correct account that you want to delete.

Step 3: Open Account Settings

On your profile page, tap on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner of the screen. This will open a menu with various options.

  • Note:
    • If you can’t find this menu icon in this location, it may vary depending on which version of Instagram app you have. Look for a similar icon or try accessing the settings from another location.

Step 4: Go to Settings

In the menu, scroll down and tap on the “Settings” option. This will open the settings page where you can manage your account settings.

Step 5: Find and Select ‘Help Center’

On the settings page, scroll down again until you find the “Help Center” option. Tap on it to access Instagram’s help resources.

Step 6: Search for ‘Delete Account’

In the Help Center, you’ll see a search bar at the top of the screen. Type in “delete account” and hit enter or tap on the search icon.

Note:

If you don’t see a search bar, look for a similar option that allows you to search within Instagram’s help resources.

Step 7: Select ‘How do I delete my account? ‘

The search results will display various articles related to deleting your Instagram account.

Look for an article titled “How do I delete my account?” and tap on it.

Step 8: Follow the Provided Link

In this article, Instagram provides a link to delete your account. Tap on this link to proceed with deleting your Instagram account.

Note:

The provided link is unique to your account and ensures that only you can delete your own account. Do not share this link with anyone else.

Step 9: Confirm Your Decision

After tapping on the deletion link, your default web browser will open, displaying a confirmation page from Instagram. Here, you’ll be asked to confirm your decision to delete your account. Read the information provided and make sure you understand the consequences of deleting your account.

Step 10: Enter Your Password and Delete Account

To proceed with deleting your account, enter your Instagram password in the designated field on the confirmation page. After entering your password, tap on the “Permanently delete my account” button to finalize the deletion process.

Step 11: Account Deleted

Congratulations! Your Instagram account has now been permanently deleted. You will no longer have access to any of the content or features associated with that account.

Note:

If you change your mind within 30 days after deleting your account, you can still recover it by logging in with your previous credentials. After 30 days, however, all of your data will be completely removed from Instagram’s servers and cannot be recovered.

That’s it! You’ve successfully deleted your Instagram account on an Android device.

We hope this tutorial was helpful for you to navigate through the process easily. Remember, if you ever decide to return to Instagram, you’ll need to create a new account from scratch.
