Welcome to this tutorial on how to connect two AirPods to one Mac! If you want to share your audio experience with a friend or loved one, this guide will walk you through the process step by step.

Step 1: Check Compatibility

Before we get started, it’s important to ensure that your Mac is compatible with this feature. This method works on Mac models running macOS Big Sur (11.0) or later. If you’re using an older version of macOS, you may need to update your system.

Step 2: Pair the First AirPod

To begin, open the lid of the first AirPods case and make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your Mac. You can do this by clicking on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen, selecting “System Preferences,” and then choosing “Bluetooth.

Next, press and hold the button on the back of the AirPods case until the LED light starts flashing white. Your Mac should detect the AirPods, and a pop-up window will appear asking if you want to connect them. Click “Connect” to pair the first set of AirPods.

Step 3: Pair the Second AirPod

After successfully connecting the first pair of AirPods, it’s time to pair the second set. Keep the lid of the first AirPods case open and take out the second set of AirPods.

Press and hold the button on the back of this second case until its LED light also starts flashing white.

Your Mac will detect these AirPods as well, and another pop-up window will appear. Click “Connect” once again to pair them.

Step 4: Enable Audio Sharing

Now that both AirPods are paired with your Mac, it’s time to enable audio sharing. Open the “System Preferences” on your Mac by clicking on the Apple menu and selecting “System Preferences. “

In the System Preferences window, click on “Sound” and then go to the “Output” tab.

Here, you will see a list of available audio devices. Look for the two AirPods options, which will typically be named after their respective owners.

Select both AirPods from the list by holding down the Command key and clicking on each AirPod. Once both AirPods are selected, you can close the System Preferences window.

Step 5: Enjoy Audio Sharing

Congratulations! You have successfully connected two AirPods to one Mac.

Now you can enjoy audio simultaneously with your friend or loved one.

When playing audio or video on your Mac, it will now output sound to both sets of AirPods simultaneously. Make sure both sets of AirPods are in range and have sufficient battery life for uninterrupted audio sharing.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If you’re having trouble connecting the second set of AirPods, make sure they are fully charged and in pairing mode (LED light flashing white).
  • If you’re unable to enable audio sharing, double-check that both sets of AirPods are selected in the “Output” tab of the Sound preferences.
  • If one set of AirPods is significantly louder than the other, adjust the volume individually using the volume control keys on your Mac or in the menu bar.

That’s it! Now you can enjoy a shared listening experience with two pairs of AirPods connected to your Mac. Have fun!
