How to Connect AirPods to Mac

Connecting your AirPods to your Mac is a seamless process that allows you to enjoy wireless audio while working, listening to music, or making video calls. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps needed to connect your AirPods to your Mac.

Step 1: Ensure Bluetooth is Turned On

Before you can connect your AirPods, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your Mac. You can do this by following these steps:

  • Click on the Apple menu: Located in the top-left corner of your screen, click on the Apple logo.
  • Select “System Preferences”: From the drop-down menu, select “System Preferences”.
  • Click on “Bluetooth”: In the System Preferences window, click on “Bluetooth”.
  • Turn on Bluetooth: Ensure that the toggle switch next to “Bluetooth” is in the “On” position.

Step 2: Put Your AirPods in Pairing Mode

  • Open the lid of your AirPods case: Ensure that both AirPods are inside the case.
  • Press and hold the setup button: Located at the back of the case, press and hold the setup button until the LED light on the front of the case starts flashing white.

  • Click on the Bluetooth icon: Located in the menu bar at the top-right corner of your screen, click on the Bluetooth icon.

  • Reset Bluetooth: Go to “System Preferences” > “Bluetooth” and click on “Turn Bluetooth Off”. Wait for a few seconds and then turn it back on.
  • Reset AirPods: Put both AirPods back in the case and close it.

    Wait for a few seconds and then open the lid of the case to reconnect them.

  • Update macOS: Make sure that you are running the latest version of macOS by going to “System Preferences” > “Software Update”. Install any available updates.
