Are you running out of storage space on your iPhone due to the large size of your photo library? Don’t worry, there’s a solution!

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of compressing your iPhone photos to save valuable storage space without compromising on quality. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Open the Photos App

First, locate and open the Photos app on your iPhone. It is represented by a colorful flower icon. Once opened, you will see all your photos organized into various albums.

Step 2: Select Photos to Compress

To compress multiple photos at once, tap on the “Select” button located at the top right corner of the screen. Now, simply tap on each photo you want to compress. You will see a blue checkmark appear on the selected photos.

If you only want to compress a single photo, you can skip Step 2 and directly proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Access Options Menu

After selecting the desired photos, tap on the share icon located at the bottom left corner of the screen. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards.

Step 4: Choose “Mail”

From the options menu that appears after tapping the share icon, select “Mail”. This will open a new email composition window with your selected photos attached as individual files.

You may wonder why we are using email as an intermediary step for compression. The reason is that when we send photos via email, they are automatically resized and compressed by Apple Mail. We will use this feature to our advantage!

Step 5: Enter Your Email Address

In the email composition window, add your own email address as the recipient. You don’t need to add any subject or message; we are only interested in compressing the photos.

Step 6: Send the Email

After adding your email address, tap on the “Send” button located at the top right corner of the screen. The email will be sent instantly from your iPhone to your own email account.

You may wonder why we are sending the email to ourselves. By doing so, we can easily access and save the compressed photos on our iPhone later.

Step 7: Retrieve Compressed Photos

Now, open your email account on your iPhone or any other device. Locate and open the email you just sent to yourself. You will find all the attached photos within this email.

Step 8: Save Compressed Photos

To save a compressed photo, simply tap and hold on it until a menu appears. Select “Save Image” from this menu, and the photo will be saved to your iPhone’s camera roll or gallery.

The compressed photos will have a smaller file size compared to their original versions while maintaining an acceptable level of quality. This allows you to free up storage space without noticeably affecting the visual appeal of your images.

By following these simple steps, you can easily compress your iPhone photos and reclaim valuable storage space on your device. It is recommended to periodically compress and delete unnecessary photos to keep your photo library organized and prevent storage issues in the future.

Now that you know how to compress iPhone photos, go ahead and give it a try! Your iPhone will thank you for the extra storage space.

Happy compressing!
