Dark mode has become increasingly popular among users of various applications and platforms. It not only provides a sleek appearance but also helps reduce eye strain, especially in low-light conditions. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to change your Snapchat to dark mode on Android devices.

Step 1: Launch the Snapchat app on your Android device and log in to your account.

Step 2: Once you are logged in, tap on your profile icon located at the top left corner of the screen. This will open up your profile page.

Step 3: On your profile page, locate the gear icon in the upper right corner and tap on it. This will take you to the settings menu.

Enabling Developer Options

If you have already enabled developer options on your Android device, you can skip this step and proceed to Step 4. If not, follow these steps:

Step 4: Go to the “About Phone” section in your device’s settings menu. The exact location of this option may vary depending on your device model and Android version.

Step 5: In the “About Phone” section, look for an option called “Build Number.” Tap on it repeatedly until a message appears indicating that you are now a developer. This will enable developer options on your device.

Step 6: Go back to the main settings menu and scroll down until you find the newly enabled “Developer Options.”

Step 7: Tap on “Developer Options” to enter its settings.

Enabling Dark Mode

Step 8: In the “Developer Options” menu, scroll down until you find an option called “Override force-dark.” Tap on it to enable this feature.

Step 9: A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the override. Tap on the “Enable” button to proceed.

Step 10: Once you have enabled the “Override force-dark” option, exit the settings menu and go back to the Snapchat app.

Step 11: Close and reopen the Snapchat app for the changes to take effect.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed your Snapchat app to dark mode on your Android device.

  • Note:
    • This method only enables dark mode for apps that support it. Not all apps will be affected.
    • If you ever wish to disable dark mode, follow the steps above and disable the “Override force-dark” option in the Developer Options menu.

Now you can enjoy using Snapchat in a visually appealing dark mode, providing a comfortable browsing experience even in low-light environments.
